From Genesis Chapter 12:5-8,we read that Abraham had altars built as he journeyed. “And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came”. Note that Abraham had family altars. “Abram passed through the land of the Canaanites unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
Have you asked yourself why Abraham built his own altars?. Are there no altars in Canaan?.Of course, there were!.The reason why he had his own altar was because his own God, “Yahweh”, is different from all other “gods” of the Canaanites .To get the promises of God, “Unto thy seed will I give this land”: Abraham” built an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him”. And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD”.
So, Abraham was fond of building altars where he met God with his family. In Genesis Chapter 12 alone, Abraham built two Altars. Abraham was not subject to the existing altars of the Canaanites.(Genesis 12:7-8).So every man who wants the promises of God should build an altar to the Lord. Moreover, couples should allow their hearts to be flushed off evil connections, defilements and symbols of wickedness by the Blood of Jesus Christ and be redeemed, renewed, allowing their hearts to be altars of the Holy Spirit. There God sends His messages for actions.Afterall it is the heart, soul,Spirit man and body that rejoices when God fulfils His promises.
Abraham and Sarah received Isaac(Laughter),Elkana and Hana recieived Samuel( Asked from The Lord) and Zacharias and Elizabeth got John the Baptist(Jah is gracious) and many other biblical examples. These people had children and were successful because they are close to God’s altars.
Our Lord Jesus Christ had altars where he prayed .St Luke reports, “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. ”(Luke 6:12).On the night of his betrayal, he went to Gethsemane(his altar) to pray.St Matthew wrote,” Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.” (Matthew’s 26:36).From the two New Testament verses, it is evident that Jesus Christ our Lord had altars where he prayed. In the two verses, one was on the mountain and one at Gethsemane. You are not greater that Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Your requests will be met if you erect your own altar today, in Jesus Christ’s Name ,Amen

In creating us free, God knows that our freedom is fragile; it will be difficult for us to give him a filial response.
We must never blindly follow the opinion of the pope, or the bishop, or the majority. It is our responsibility to think for ourselves and to evaluate according to the criteria of the Gospel.
