A “Masterpiece”

There is a quote , “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”  What one person might think is art, may not be to some one else.  It’s kind of like writing, some people might find tutorials helpful while someone else may relate more to some one’s “what they did today” posts.

I’ve never been in an art gallery before, so I don’t know about art other than what I like and that is still life pictures.  I also like pictures of nature, the skies, animals in the wild and nature.  Some other people like paintings where there are just colors all over the place, they really aren’t drawing anything in particular but it’s more of a feeling.

Apparently, even artists can make a mistake by calling something some teenagers did as a prank art!!  It happened at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.  This 17 year old has been apparently doing an experiment at other art galleries as well. The teen wanted to see, if people will consider anything that is put in an art museum art.  He dropped a pair of glasses on the floor of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.  People were looking at it and trying to figure out what the glasses represented.

At another art museum he used a baseball cap and a bin as his prank to see if people would think it was art.  Most people can use what a person sees at an art museum and can relate to something artistic or as a metaphor.  Maybe one can even think of art as a joke… a picture can “trick” yourself into seeing something that really isn’t art as art, but since it could symbolize something it really could be art.  Maybe the artist isn’t really the artist, but the real artist is some one who is looking at the art.  The person examining the art is the one who is using their imagination, especially when the object is a prank and really isn’t art.
