That’s why we will make peace with Boko Haram – Lai Mohammed

minister said many people did not know that they had been talking to the extremist group for a long time

Nigerian media minister Lai Mohammed said the government had begun to discuss Boko Haram on the possibility of ceasefire, hopefully ending the crisis.

On Sunday, Mohammed said this during a special interview with the media in Lagos to give further insight into the rescue of Dapchi girls.

In a statement sent to a further insight into the child’s message, the minister said: “Many people do not know that we have been talking to the ceasefire forces for a long time.”

Mr Mohammed said the ceasefire agreement was signed on March 19, so that the girls would be able to recover.

It’s been the first time in the last 10 years that the government said he had been talking to Boko Haram on a cease-fire in the rebel conflict that killed thousands of people since 2009.

The government under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari has repeatedly emphasized that he is ready to go to the negotiations with the group.

This development is coming shortly after the return of more than 100 girls from Dapchi’s kidnapped Boko Haram sect.Last week, President Buhari met Dapchi’s girls after returning to BH forces

On Sunday the girls were returned to their parents after they met with President Buhari in Abuja, after a month’s attack on Boko Haram.

But there is still one girl in the hands of the militants, who said they did not return to her because of her Islamist beliefs, while five girls met their deadline there.

It may be said that this is an important step forward from the Nigerian government.President Buhari earlier promised that he would not go to negotiations with the militants.

But in a seemingly responsive topic, the media minister said the government had been talking to them for a long time.

The minister, however, did not comment on which part of the organization was to discuss, nor did he comment on the deal being made.

A commentator in Nigeria, Antony Goldman, told the Reuters news agency that it would be difficult to reconcile the group because of the separation of two parties.

Boko Haram was a bit unsuccessful when the IS group described Abu Musab al-Barnawi as the leader of the group in August 2016.

Another party under the direction of Abubakar Shekau is most known as the head of the group.

It is known as a video in which he is challenging the Nigerian authorities, and his part uses girls for suicide bombers.

Goldman told Reuters: “There are a number of terrorists who are doing bad things and are watching the world with a system that is contrary to the rules and democracy – but there are some areas that are ready to reconcile them.”
