Scandal; no longer watching it

In 2014, CVM, one of the two Jamaican commercial television stations, got the chance to broadcast the World Cup.

CVM was the new station.   TVJ, (television Jamaica) was born from the JBC (Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation) which was part of RJR (Radio Jamaica and Rediffusion) which existed pre-Independence, (before 1962).

There was one television station in Jamaica, JBC   (which became TVJ),  until CVM was created.   Only one station.  Until CVM began broadcasting in 1993.

So from the 60s until 1993 there was only One Television Station which did what it pleased.  Then came CVM which got some attention.

Somehow it beat out TVJ and gained the broadcasting rights for the 2014 World Cup.  And  to keep the viewer after the match ended, it began to run a show called ‘Scandal’ every night from the 12th of June to the 13th of July 2014.

Now everyone watches the World Cup.  It was a brilliant plan to put this show on right after the match and hype it.

Everyone watched the first 31 episodes of Scandal.  That was the First Season, the Second Season, and a few Episodes of the 3rd.

One episode after another.

Then it went to broadcasting Scandal once a week, completing the 3rd season.

Many people continued to watch Scandal after the end of the World Cup.  The show was engrossing.  The 3rd Season was not too bad.

Then, viewing dropped.

When there was a ‘break’ in transmission of the episodes, no one cared if Scandal came back or not. Tose who had interest might have watched the 4th Season on Cable or Computer.

But as Scandal became stupider and stupider, more people lost interest.

By the Fifth Season it went directly into the  toilet.

Now in the beginning, a show that focused on a sitting President having an Affair would be interesting.  Many American Presidents had affairs while being President.

One didn’t have to go into complete insanity, over done ridiculousness, people would watch if it was as close to real and as sensible as could be.  But…

It moved into ridiculous.

Who wants to watch a show about imaginary organisations and unbelievable people which is taken so seriously?

I tried.   I did.

I walked into Season 6.  Yeah.

As nauseating as ‘Rowan’ – ‘Command’ was, with his over acting, stupid dialog and idiotic behaviour,  the writer obviously had farther down to go and created another fantasy group, even worse than Rowan.

Forget it.

Although the last episode aired a few days ago, I can’t bring myself to watch it.  The effort of sitting and looking at it, is too much.  I rather clean the toilet.
