Contribution of Indian corporate in Education sector

Couple of years back Narayana askd from his fellow workers and business associates a crucial question. Let me explain what he basically wanted to know or what was going on in his mind then. But I will have to go in detail about Narayana to explain things properly first.

Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy, aka NR Narayana Murthy or popularly known as Narayana Murthy in India is one of the Indians I admire for his simplicity and knowledge of business. He is one Indian along with number of Indian business tycoons like Ratan Tata Azim PremJi, Birlas and Modis those have done so much in the field of higher education so selflessly that they deserve special mention in history of Indian education apart from what they have done in industrial sector.

However, the case of Azim Premji and Narayana Murthy is different because they did something extra ordinary for their contribution to the field of knowledge based higher education.  However, Narayana Murthy has recently raised a question particularly related his own industrial related sector the information technology which in my views will be a crucial one in days to come as this topic is a trending one in forthcoming general elections of the United States especially asked by a candidate who himself is a leading American businessman.

Narayana asked a straight forward question or should I say he raised a crucial topic that was kind of criticism of Indian IT sector industries which in his views are working job providing agents to Indian professionals in other countries rather than hiring local talent from the countries they are working in. He is right up to some extent but he should know that business is all about best opportunities and profit if they have to survive and Narayana should know it better than anyone else.

In fact his own company has sent number of professional to other countries especially to America providing H1-B visa to Infosys professionals regularly. There is a simple formula if the Indian companies send Indian professionals onsite because they are available at lower salary and perks besides as qualifies as their foreign counterparts.

It’s a simple economic matter, the day the professionals from other countries will agree to work on lower rates than Indian professionals the companies will stop hiring Indians even in India. It’s as simple as that and Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy should know that.

Actually what corporate sector has done for Indian education is not fully selfless in my humble opinion but it really creates a new workforce for better function of their ownself. The private sector thus gets a workforce ready with their own point of view, vision and according to their various advantages in terms of ready to function according to their specific needs.

The major requirement of Indian corporate comes from top management and engineering institutes in India which are mostly run by these industrial houses. But the fact that these institutes give a promising career for aspiring students a platform which provides them a chance in their prospective fields. I don’t think it was something which would not be possible without the help of Indian corporate sector’s help.
