WHEN DOES THE LOVING STOPS?

PHASES OF A RELATIONSHIP

COURTSHIP, LOVE STARTS TO BUILD UP.

Both parties may not be as honest as they want to be. The parties put their best foot forward at all times. They are on their best behavior just to win each other’s heart. Some even have to resort to some white lies to invent an image for them build up their personality.

BOYFRIEND – GIRLFRIEND PHASE, LOVE IS HEATING UP

At this phase, there is a little breather. The parties, more or less, have opened up to some of their inhibitions. The parties can’t seem to get enough of each other, to the point of losing sleep over it. They feel that their life is not complete without the other. Love really flies! You want to hear or talk to your love interest every minute of the day. “I love you” is freely spoken or texted. Fire is now aflame.

ENGAGEMENT, THE EMBER OF LOVE IS GLOWING

This is now the point wherein a more serious planning of future life is the focus of the relationship. You can say that this is the “make or break” point of the relationship. Others may have cold feet, maybe for fear of the uncertainties or the fear of facing bigger responsibilities.

Even with the uncertainty of things, attachment to each other is sticky as the strongest adhesive there is in the world. No one can take you apart. The parties are determined to make this a lifelong commitment to prove to the world that there really is FOREVER.

MARRIAGE, LONGEST PHASE.

This is the longest phase you have to face.

In marriage, there are also stages to encounter:

1. Freedom of being a couple (before having children);
2. Life as a family (after having children);
3. Keeping the ember glow;
4. Proving your self-worth, for both partners; and
5. Thankful for surviving the ‘game’.
