Humans or any living being needs a good health for it to survive and carry out its day to day activities in a normal way. There are many times when our health gives away due to continuous neglect by us. This is a totally avoidable situation and all of us can definitely invest time and money in this important aspect of our lives. As good health means the ability to work, carry out day to day activities, take care of other members of our family, fulfill our responsibility as a provider, ability to fund and take care of our family members needs and our own needs life food, clothing, shelter, education, other needs and luxuries in life.

Which members of our family would want from time to time. Luxuries may mean different things to different people for some it is getting two square meals a day and some work, for others it is able to go and dine out, for a few others it is going to view a movie with family members and for the some others it is going on a outing or viewing a good movie at home together. This varies from person to person, family to family and society to society too. Here let us see how we can invest time and money on our own health which is of utmost importance and the gateway to obtain the facilities mentioned above for ourselves and our family members too and the society in general.

One of the simplest ways which an individual can improve his or health and remain fit is to walk. Walking is one of the most simplest exercise which can be performed by each and every person who is working unless he or she has a serious wealth health issue. A person has to walk approximately around 12000 steps a day from morning till night before going to the bed. The good thing is this does not cost any money too only thing is you need to invest some time for yourself as a daily routine which will work wonders in the long run. One can turn around and say that but I am having office or I do not have the time to walk or I have lots of work and hence I cannot walk so on and so forth.

If one wants to there are hundred and one  excuses which one can give. But if one is genuinely wanting to try this out it is possible. Maybe one may not be able to make 12000 steps a day but one can start with at least around 1000 to 5000 steps a day and increase the same periodically over a period of time. If it is done in a graded way it will definitely work wonders for ones health. Without costing a bomb. This is an easy activity  which is worth considering. I will share a personal experience with you I walked for around four months for six kilometers in the evening after work from office t residence in around fifty minutes and could reduce twenty two kilos of weight.

Everyone does not need to do at the pace which I did but you can certainly do your bit for your health. Walk in clean and pollution free zones as walking involves breathing rapidly over a period of time so if you walk in the wrong areas you will breath toxic air which is not good for your health. As a motivation you can walk as a couple or walk with the family too it forms a healthy collective activity.

One more way to stay healthy without wasting  money is to do exercises for around twenty minutes to one hour or more here too there is only some time which needs to be spent on this activity and one has the choice to do exercises either daily or alternative days. Both the ways it is beneficial. You do not need any equipment and heavy weights or dumb bells etc. Simply perform some standard exercises there are so many of them available to choose from, in the safe confines of your home repeat each exercise for around ten times and switch on to the other part of the body after finishing the regimen of ten their then move on to the next part and so on.

Concentrate on ten parts mainly eyes, neck, hands, stomach, buttocks, thighs, legs, knuckles, ankles  and back. This will help tone up your muscles and bones, increase the blood and make the circulation faster, keep your mind active and the body fit and also create appetite to have good food and induces sleep too. There are many other innumerable health benefits and I can go on and on listing the same. Try this out for the sake of your health. You will be happy you took the decision. The only thing you do before doing this process is get a health checkup done and consult your doctor. After that you are free to proceed.

One more simple method which will help you save both time and money and also take care of your health is dieting. Ideally we generally have breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner and in between juice or something like tea which we may like. What you can do is try to have a heavy breakfast, if you are not used to it you will take some time to get used to it but ultimately it will be possible. Have light lunch and in the evening have light dinner and eat the dinner if possible at least four hours before sleep. One more method is to eat six small meals a day that too helps you a great deal and keeps you fit as a fiddle.

Avoid coffee and tea if possible otherwise limit it to once or at the most twice a day, do not consume alcohol or similar such drinks, avoid  aerated drinks and also outside food and carry drinking water from home. Avoid junk food at all costs. Do not smoke cigarettes and cigars or eat betel nut or tobacco. If it is not possible to do it a one go slowly reduce the substances to be reduced. Have food at specific time in a day,  if you happen to be on the move carry your food and water too. If you have to take some medicines daily eat them on time. Eat lots of fruits and nuts too as this helps in detoxification of the body. If you practice a disciplined life you will see the results and you will reduce weight slowly or at least you will not tend to put on more weight. This may have been heard by you a lot of times but many do not follow the same religiously and hence do not see the results which they would want to see.

Meditative practices like yoga or other such procedures may need a teacher initially or you may need to go to a class. You can also if you prefer to see television programs and learn if you are the sort who can learn from the instructions easily. But I suggest once for a few months you meet a teacher. Once you are aware of the exercises like breathing techniques and other physical exercises the same can be practiced by you at your home. This again if learnt in the house saves you time and money. But if you are going to a class to learn these exercises then you may need to spend some money. Which is nothing but an investment which you are making for the sake of your health and well being. These things keep your mind, body and soul free from all health issues and calms your nerves too which is very much needed in today’s time and age.

If you have learnt some dance form or some other exercise in the childhood. You can practice the same at home this comes free and comes to you naturally as you are aware of it as you have already learnt it. Dances like aerobics, kathak, salsa, disco etc will be of use to burn your fat and keep you in a happy and positive  frame of mind. You can also use some time if you have and teach others the art which you have learnt and you can earn and also practice the same while teaching others too. You will be doing a great service to society by doing such a thing and you will get money, name and fame depending on the quality of work you do and the experience you have.

Sleep is also a good activity which comes naturally. Quality sleep improves immunity, health, alertness, keeps the body fit by providing adequate rest to all the parts of the body which are working hard during the day. Even sleep comes free and you have to give yourself some time to sleep too.  All these goes to show that if one would want to he or she can do many things to take care of ones health  by investing some time and money and lead a good quality of life and see that you are able to do what you would want to without any health issues. Your health is of paramount importance not only to you but to your family and near and dear ones too.

    • spend money yea, but time, i guess is the best thing that gave you time, like when it is time to relax of sleep or so on, isnt it, nice post and liked it thanks for it

      • Thanks for liking the post. I see many people around go through difficult times when it comes to health. Hence that is what made me write this post. I wanted to see what are the different alternatives which I can provide as solution for the issue. Many of the families are running from pillar to post after landing in problems due to health issues.

If one is able to do at least fifty percent of the activities which have been mentioned. I can safely say that many of the people will be having a great time with their family and friends. As health is the ultimate wealth and money can be generated only when we are healthy and are able to go and work. Thanks for the input.

    • Good Health is the greatest blessing of life. Life is a weary burden to a person of broken health. Sometimes, the richest man with bad health always suffers and groans. He is unhappy in spite of his great wealth.

We all know the popular saying “Health is Wealth”. By health, we do not mean the absence of physical troubles only. But it is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. The loss of health is a loss of all happiness. Mahatma Gandhi also says, “It is health which is real wealth, and not pieces of gold and silver”.

So I agree with what you have written that Health is an important investment.

      • Agree with what you have written regarding the topic of health. The world over many of the people have money but have no time for themselves and no peace of mind and they also spend a sleepless night. This continues for years and has a very negative effect on the health. And the whole they end up eating medicines to recover which they mostly are unable to do so.

While on the other side there are millions of people who are having a life but no resources to sustain themselves and even have two square meals a day. They suffer from health issues and malnutrition too. Living in unhygienic conditions they have one problem or the other troubling and they are not having the resources to get the treatment which will make a difference in their situation. Both the situations are totally contradictory. Thanks for the feedback.

    • I think we can be healthy without spending too much money. If you are really health conscious person, then planting some vegetables in the backyard will be a good source of food. The grown vegetables will be freshly harvested and used for having a great meal for the family.

Time seems difficult to handle. But it wasn't all the case. If we know how to balance your life, then relaxation will be possible. Life should be balanced not only for oneself but with the people close to your heart.

      • Agree with you organic food is gaining lot of popularity in our country. It is turning out to be a big business. Even though it is priced somewhat costly compared to the normal vegetables and fruits which we get from the market produced on a large scale.

As advised by you it is very good to have a vegetable garden but not many will have land as cities are concrete jungles. But they can surely grow them in pots too. Moderation in life is important and a good work and life balance is very much essential to have a healthy mind and body. Thanks for the inputs.

    • I agree, we can be healthy without spending too much money joining fitness clubs or going to the gym. Just walking or always keep on moving even when you are inside the house or in an office will provide the necessary daily exercise.

I ma just curious, how about green tea? Why did you mentioned here that one should avoid drinking coffee or tea? I had been drinking a healthy coffee with numerous herbs on it, and with stevia leaf extract as sweetener.

      • Appreciate you inputs on this particular topic of health. As rightly pointed by you in the first para, walking is a simple way of improving ones health. One tends to be active when they are always on the move. Exercises as per each individuals capacity is also healthy and can be done at the home. Having a balanced life in work and rest will also prove beneficial.

Regarding tea having tea is good and healthy if consumed twice a day. But many who I have observed tend to have tea for more than five to six times a day and they add sugar to it too. This will increase the sugar level as especially refined sugar is not healthy compared to jaggery. Regarding the herbal tea and coffee and coffee which you like consuming I am sure you would be consuming them twice or at the most thrice but not more than that. So again moderation is the key to a good life. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    • Nice post. But we often forget about the basic things. Thank you for bringing up the topic.
