Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh in 1st ODI of series,2009

Zimbabwe was scheduled to play a 7 Match ONE DAY International series in Bangladesh in 2009. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as they are ranked at 1 and 3. The 1st ONE DAY international match was to be played on Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Bangladesh holds the upper hand as they are more balanced team and playing very well as well.

Bangladesh did not batted well and was able to post total of only 124 runs in 48.1 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and with top scores of R Hasan who made 28 runs in 33 balls with 6 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 85 runs in 100 balls and M rahim who made 22 runs in 38 balls with 3 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 58 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe was needed to score 125 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

Zimbabwe batted well and was able to chase the target of 125 runs in 49.2 over’s at the loss of 8 wicket and won the game by 2 wickets in hand and with top contributions from Ray P who made 23 runs in 52 balls with 2 4’s and 0 sixes at the strike rate of 44 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe won the match by 2 wickets in hand and series stands at 1-0 in favor of Zimbabwe with 6 more games to play.
