Is your character accusing you before God and man?.Read this “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it”.(John 8:44) Are you a party and receipient to this condemnation? Is the devil your father? God forbid!.We are called to exhibit the righteousness of God even in our marriages. The new generations of people coming out of our loins will live in a better society if we show them true life pictures-the consequences of falsehood and the benefits of the truth. Presenting falsehood as a norm to the incoming generations after us is a curse to humanity. The Apostle Paul writing to the Corinthian Church released thus,” Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)Many couples tell lies on the mentioned issues of the aforementioned verse. Some fornicate with their children’s age mates. Some worship idols and yet holding positions in the church. Some commit adultery with other peoples spouses so as to get through their needs etc. Some couples encourage indecent dressing of their children. Some couples encourage their spouses to embezzle public funds. So many husbands and wives are drunkards and smokers-knowing the consequences of these. Apostle Paul writing to the Ephesians’ church submitted, “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (Ephesians 4:14-15) There is no mixture of darkness and light. Darkness must give way to the light. Couples, it is better to dwell in the truth to save our generations from the wrath of God. There are so many people who are not privileged to marry. Married persons are called to be stewards of God. The Apostle Paul writing to the Corinthian’s Church, opined,” Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man (the couple) be found faithful”(1st Corinthians 4:2)
