Afghanistan Beat Canada in 5th ODI of series,2010

Afghanistan and Canada was scheduled to play a 7 Match one day International series in United Arab Emirates in 2010. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as they are ranked at 11 and 14. The 5th ONE DAY international match was to be played on Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates on 20th Feb 2010. Canada holds the upper hand as they are more balanced team and playing very well as well.

Afghanistan won the toss and opts to bat first; this is how Canada team and 11 was looking like in this 5th ONE DAY international match: Ashish Bagai (c & wk), Umar Bhatti, Sunil Dhaniram, Trevin Bastiampillai, Harvir Baidwan, Rizwan Cheema, Sandeep Jyoti, Manoj David, Khurram Chohan, Hiral Patel, Usman Limbada

 

And Afghanistan team and 11 was looking like this in this 5th  ONE DAY international Match: Dawlat Ahmadzai, Asghar Stanikzai, Karim Sadiq, Mohammad Nabi, Nawroz Mangal (c), Raees Ahmadzai, Noor Ali Zadran, Samiullah Shenwari, Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Shapoor Zadran, Aftab Alam

 

Afghanistan batted well and was able to post total of 202 runs in 48.2 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and with top scores of K Sadiq abi who made 40 runs in 50 balls with 3 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 80 runs in 100 balls and S Zadran who made 50 runs in 50 balls with 5 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 100 runs in 100 balls.

Canada batted well but was unable to chase the target of 203 runs and was only able to make 180 runs in 48.2 over’s at the loss of 10 wicket and lost the game by 22 runs and with top contributions from K Chohan who made 40 runs in 50 balls with 6 4’s and 0 sixes at the strike rate of 80 runs in 100 balls.

Afghanistan won the match by 22 runs and series stands at 3-2 in favor of Afghanistan with 2 more games to play.
