West Indies Beat Zimbabwe in 1st T 20 of series, 2013

Zimbabwe was scheduled to play a 3 Match T 20 International Series in West Indies in 2013. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as both are ranked at 6 and 10. The 1st T 20 international match was to be played on Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, and West Indies on 2nd March 2013. West Indies holds the upper hand as they are more experienced team and playing at home.

Zimbabwe batted very well and was able to post total of 130 runs in 20 over’s at the loss of 8 wickets and with top scores of M Waller who made 49 runs in 34 balls with 4 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 144 runs in 100 balls and Craig E who made 34 runs in 39 balls with 5 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 87 runs in 100 balls.

West Indies was needed to score 131 runs in 20 over’s to win this match.

West Indies batted well and was able to chase the target of 131 runs in 16.1 over’s at the loss of 2 wickets and won the game by 8 wickets in hand with top contributions from L Simmons who made 63 runs in 49 balls with 1 4’s and 6 sixes at the strike rate of 129 runs in 100 balls.

West Indies won the match by 8 wickets in hand and leads the series 1-0.
