Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh in 2nd ODI of series,2014

Sri Lanka was scheduled to play a 3 Match ONE DAY International Series in Bangladesh in 2014. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who will be crowned as the winner after the series as both are ranked at 3 and 8. The 2nd  ONE DAY international match was to be played on Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh on 20th Feb 2014.

Sri Lanka batted well and was able to post total of 289 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 6 wickets and with top scores of K sanga who made 128 runs in 115 balls with 14 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 111 runs in 100 balls and A Mathews who made 56 runs in 39 balls with 6 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 144 runs in 100 balls.

Bangladesh was needed to score 290 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

Bangladesh batted well but was unable to chase the score of 290 runs and was able to make only 228 runs in 43 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and lost the game by 61 runs and top scores by M Rahim who made 79 runs in 83 balls with 5 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 95 runs in 100 balls.

Sri Lanka won the match by 61 runs and now this 3 Match ONE DAY international series ends at 2-0 in favor of Sri Lanka with 1 more game to play.
