It is a good idea to consider your caffeine intake during the day. Stop drinking things with it in atleast six hours before bedtime. Some people are very sensitive to this and need even more time. Also be aware of chocolate, tea and energy drink intake.

Going to bed and getting up at consistent hours is regulated together. Wake up times and bedtime patterns all run very closely. Sleeping in on the weekends should not exceed 90 minutes past your regular time. You should be able to sleep more soundly and this encourages your body to have a healthier sleep/wake cycle.

    • So cute baby in his sleep, me spend only 4.5 hours sleep this time because of the heavy traffic in the road due to unfinished road construction. I feel groggy and sometime fall asllep while riding. I avoid myself driving my car this time, I am afraid I fall asleep while driving. My work starts at 7 in the morning and if I won't wake up at 3:30 dawn, I will be late ,plus I cannot avoid myself to sleep late, at 11:00 because of my on line business. Writing is my passion, so I won't just sleep without accomplishing anything like blog writing and submitting it after here.It is a must to sleep at least 8 hours, but this time technology evades many to go to spend 8 hours sleeping.

      • Isn't it? Doesn't sound like you are getting much sleep lately. There are some ways to assure that get to bed at the same time each night. Writing is my passion also. In this fast paced world it is hard to get the 8 hours all the time. Happy z's to you.

    • I don't sleep 8 hours daily lately. I am so overloaded but things are doing fine with me. I need to be productive as much as possible and thinking about my ultimate goal this year. There is always time to rest but I can's sleep. I made LB my storyteller while writing something here.

      • I normally get about 6 hours of sleep. But I have severe depression so sometimes it is much more and others much less. Having an active life and trying to get it all done is hard. But, there are ways to get to sleep and get into a routine. I will write about them next. Thanks for your reply.

    • An interesting article on an important topic. You have covered many points which need to be stressed and we should remind ourselves of the same. Many a times we tend to forget our routine as we are tied up with work and hence would like to see that the work is complete before going to bed as this pending work plays on ones mind. If this is one day affair then it is find but if sleep gets disturbed regularly due to work then it is compromising ones health for the sake of work and money.

Money can be earned only if we have a alert and clear thinking mind and the same is possible only if we get a good nights sleep. As for any living being including humans sleep builds immunity and increases resistence against health problems. A good article having lots of insights. What one can do is to keep a check list mentioned above displayed like a notice at a prominent place in the house. This will remind us of the same and help the cause.

    • Sleep is so important. Yes, there is so much we must fit into our days. I think that sleep should have priority and perhaps we should schedule ourselves better. Priorities, priorities, priorities. Thanks for your reply here.
