I see many people smoke these days, even they are educated and belong to good society and they follow a good life style still they smoke. They all know that smoking is very very bad and injurious to health but still they have this bad habit of smoking many a times on daily basis and some are so much habitual that they cannot even imagine themselves without smoking and if they get there self caught at some place where smoking is 100 % prohibited then they feel nervous and angry and look for the washrooms or hidden places where they can smoke. I mean why they are so much habitual they should have avoided smoking as smoking is so bad and it impacts the health of smoker and also the other person who is along with the smokers and it will make the life a living hell as it causes many diseases as cigarettes are made up of tobacco which badly impacts the lungs and lungs are the most important part of our body also Lung diseases caused by smoking include COPD, which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis and weakness in body as well. Cigarette smoking causes most cases of lung cancer which further deteriorates the health of smoker. If the smoker have asthma, tobacco smoke can trigger an attack or make an attack worse and it would led to death as well and it will affect the state of a family as well. As I heard many say they smoke only when they feel nervous or to reduce their tiredness and some silly people smoke cigarettes for show off only, It may be due to any reason but no reason is acceptable, if its harming your health then you should leave it and avoid it by the means available and with your will power as well. Government has started many Rehabilitation centers to help people quit the smoking problems and other drug abuse, as its denting the growth of society and country at large

I never and do my husband. The price of cigarette is expensive and getting expensive in my country. One pack of 12 could cost up to MYR 16, i.e about one local dollar each stick, or about $0.40 per stick.
Sometimes, our friend might ask for a free cigarette when we are having tea/ coffee and chat in the same coffee shop. Don't forget, it could not only one, but some of the smoker will ask around without buying themselves.
And, the smokers are some friendly and never say :NO to their smoking fans, thus it would be added cost to own smoking habit. Frankly speaking, my brother in law quit smoking after 40 years smoking because he found himself can't stand to give away the cigarette free everyday in the coffee shop after retired.
He can't stand with the expense or money spend on cigarette in this way as he has no income after retired. Thus, he decided to quit and no need to feel faceless to reject the request from his smoking fans. Haha!

SOme people smoke because of peer pressure.
I also smoked once in a while when I was in College, to be at par with my smoking friends/classmates. However, when I noticed that my breath becomes bad whenever I smoke, i quickly quit.
Since then I never smoked anaymore.
One cousin of my hubby died at the age of 40 plus, because she always smoked. She died of emphysema, which is caused by smoking. Sad, because she left behind 3 teenagers, because she's a single mother. Her gay brother raised them when she died.
