A person who does not read is comparable to a blind and deaf person. There is nothing he can share. His knowledge is so limited that he keeps on asking you about what is being talked about and what has been discussed. In a seminar- workshop for example, a participant may not be able to interact and share ideas due to limited knowledge of the issue. A student for example, after finishing a course and plans to take the board examination realizes during the exam day that he lacks sufficient knowledge especially the Education students, if they lack sufficient knowledge about Literature lessons in relations to writers especially American writers, the stories they had written and the elements of short stories, they will realize late they need to review past lessons or research more. Those portions in the technology will be in one way or another aid you to do something not found in your vocabulary of mathematics, physics, calculus and trigonometry.
It is never late to acquire a skill in reading. Reading is one of the communication skills that lead you to become a better professional in your chosen career someday. The reading you need to enjoy does not only give you information about what is happening around the world, foremost, it will help you improve your communication in writing. Writing, like reading is also another communicative skill everyone must acquire so that he can express his feelings and thoughts effectively.
In reading there is wonder; you can explore beyond your imagination. You can gather data and solve some critical and practical problems in life. Reading allows your mind to think critically and evaluate things that are at risks. You will be equipped with much logical reasoning. Go, go, go for reading, it is never late. Reading does not require age of a person for as long as having a habit on reading, anywhere you go, you are like a hungry detergent hungry of reading. If you are already a senior citizen, from a hearsay point -of – view reading prevents you to get sick of dementia and Parkinson’s disease, so useful skill every man must enjoy.

Nowadays, we don't rely only on books. We can now gain knowledge through surfing the net. One can even go to different places in the world through the internet. No neet to buy expensive books.
Though of course, novels are good to read also. And they can be bought cheap on second hand bookstores.
