Companies, schools, almost every group will pay a ‘Motivational’ speaker, because even the tiniest intellect knows that when people are motivated they perform better.
Motivation isn’t just a higher salary or shorter hours. Motivation is when one feels part of the organisation and like a proud parent wants the best for the child.
Demotivation is far more effective, however. Just as hate is stronger than love, eroding one’s interest or commitment takes much less effort than inspiring them.
For example, I was once a fervent member of an organisation. At the time it was led by a guy who seemed to make a career out of slapping away every idea I had. So, I stopped having ideas, stopped paying dues, stopped coming to meetings.
I was telling a friend about it when she reminded me of what happened with her son. He had been the Captain of the under 12 team which won trophies. Sent to a particular High School where the Coach didn’t want any ‘Chiney’ captain, or even player, he was pushed to playing left back until he was left back. He stopped playing for the school, and for most purposes, stopped playing.
He might have been qualified to be on our National team if he hadn’t been demotivated.
The often mentioned Boss From Hell is a world class demotivator. An employee arrives, is focused on his or her work,s willing to stay until the job is done. After a few weeks of his abuse, the same employee becomes non-productive. Watching the clock, coming on time, taking that full hour for lunch and leaving just before the eight hours are up.
The Employee who felt this was ‘his/her’ work now sits back and pushes a piece of paper around a desk, because it is NOT his/her work, it belongs to the Boss From Hell.
Once someone is demotivated, there is no way to get them back on stream. An organisation would have to elect that person to a High Office and show great respect, a Coach would have to make that player feel precious, and a Boss From Hell would have to die and be replaced by a Boss From Heaven to get a portion of that that person offered before demotivation.

PROBABLY IT IS, THAT MOTIVATION IS NEEDED BY EVERY INDIVIDUAL TO BEGIN THEIR DAILY ROUTINES, WORKS, AND ACTIVITIES. THOUGH SOMETIMES, THERE ARE THOSE THINGS, PEOPLE AND HAPPENINGS THAT MAKE US DEMOTIVATED. BUT WE SHOULD STAND FIRM AND THINK OF OUR GOALS OR THINK OF THE PEOPLE WHO IS THE REASON OF WHAT YOU'RE DOING TO REGAIN MOTIVATION.

*RELAX YOURSELF ONES AND A WHILE
As you can read from the examples, there are people who demotivate you. And once demotivated, it is unlikely one will ever 'spring back'
