Some of the Problems faced by pedestrians

One day I went out for a walk after a short confinement at home. Actually I suffered

from bad throat and fever. When I stepped out I found some water flowing in the street.

Actually my neighbor was washing the front of his house and shop. He loves to be clean and tidy so whenever he gets some time, he starts washing the place.

I don’t have any objection to his habit. But the problem is that a large quantity of water that gathers in front of my gate does not bother him the least. Anyhow I managed to get out of that mess and was happy I did not spoil my new suit.

Now I had to enter another street which could lead me to the main road. I had hardly gone a few meters when I saw a man coming towards me, holding the rope of his big healthy dog. I got scared but the owner of the dog consoled my heart saying that it will not hurt me.

But in spite of his consoling words, I stopped and allowed the man to take the dog away. He also sensed my fear and pulled the rope but the animal managed to get out of his control and it came to me and started licking my shoes one by one.

I did not know what to do but my common sense told me that I should not move at that very moment. So I had to allow the dog to lick my shoes for some time.  Having done so, it looked at me and then followed the young man. I thanked God that the monster had moved away without biting my thin legs.

Finally I reached the main road and wanted to cross it so that I could have my way to the park. There was heavy traffic that day and I had to wait long before I had courage to move ahead.

I stepped forward and hoped I would be able to go to the other side of the road. But it was not that easy.

As I moved to cross the road, Motor bikes and rickshaws passed in front of me, making a semi- circle. As I proceeded further, they started making a larger circle. I was stuck on the road and did not know what to do.

Anyhow I managed to cross the road when a car driver took mercy upon me. He slowed down the speed of his car and enabled me come out of that mess.

Now I was on the pavement but the problem here was that it was encroached by the shopkeepers and vendors.  Moreover, the area was being used as parking which further aggravated the situation. It was not possible for me to move freely as I would on a footpath. Anyhow I walked out of that congestion and was delighted but my happiness did not last longer. I passed by a pickup which was being unloaded on the road-side.

Soon I reached the park, my present destination, but was discouraged to see some young men playing cricket in the park.

Will somebody advise me what to do?
