TRANSFORMATIONAL LEARNING
Everything in the world we are living in may change. The character of a person may change. Prices of goods may change. Clothing styles may change. Everything, almost everything we see may change. Education or learning is part of it.
Some school may not have the competitive capacity because of the way learning takes place. However, most schools in different country excel because of the changes of learning style from that traditional learning to a Transformational mode of learning.
WHAT IS THIS TRANSFORMATIONAL LEARNING?
Transformational learning is a change in capacity, that capacity analyzes, set aside bias, ask questions, reframe, and revise. It reforms the way we make out of life. Transformational learning at the depth of the soul change in the identity, purpose, and meaning. It is a moment and a movement in the inner life and social life.
In school, teachers cannot teach transformation, but facilitate the possibility of transformation. What is included in the teacher’s curriculum that provides potential for transformation? It is the transformational component, which is to inspire, instruct, and assist students in five significant issues (analyze, set aside bias, questioning, reframe, and revise) related to the human condition of the youth.
Transformational learning is facilitating the learners to have a critical thinking towards the subject. It is looking outside the box. What you have learned does not stop there. Go out to that comfort zone, expound your learning, discover, and apply or experience what you have learned. Be constructive. Do not limit your capability but do extra efforts to be more competitive.
The teacher is the facilitator of transformational learning, whereas learner’s role is to participate actively in activities. Learners are doers. Transformation of learning cannot be existing without the learner’s participation. The learners are the one who makes the transformation. Learning can always change, but those changes are not all transformational. It can only be transformational if in the process; the students re-frame and revise their old learning. It is transformational when they actively participate, ask questions and analyze it critically and apply within their selves.

This is what the students lack this time to apply their highest level of thinking called critical thinking.No matter how the teacher helps the learners, but the latter seem deaf and mute to challenge themselves. It is very hard for them to transform this time because of exploitation of technology, which they themselves tolerated. What they always have on their hand, gadget and if ask about a critical question, they refer the answer to Goggle.
This means to say that only few were able to transform themselves to become a better person.
The transformational learning is totally lacking in most of the schools. Though the students are learners they are not encouraged to participate in the right direction with an out-of-box thinking. There are some schools where the students will not be allowed to question.
The Transformational learning gives an opportunity to analyze, to think, to question, and to interact. It is the last element which is totally lacking in modern schools.
The revision is the duty of the Management of Schools. They should study the developments that are taking places in the field of teaching. Sticking to the same old methods of teaching will not yield any good results and produce a quality education. It is needed providing refresh training classes to the teachers and send them and encouraging them to attend such courses in the best interest of students as well as the Institution.
Though, there is a lot of things happened in the field of teaching there is something more yet to be achieved and introduced in the transformational learning. The transformational learning is important not only for students but should be for teachers as well.
Once this concept is realized the purpose of transformational learning will be achieved to the great extent and will benefit the student community as well as to the teachers
Modernization had changed the students to be a critical thinker. They are totally dependent on others and learn to be passive in learning. They lack initiatives to think and rely on the easiest way to have the essential information.
Mr. Google and the rest of his co-networks became popular to the youngsters nowadays. A click can answer everything in their minds. This browser is a virtual teacher. Life becomes easy because of the available internet.
I also not agree with the fact that it depends on the school where the students studying in. It is not always in the school per se. The learning process is the interest and passion for being somebody. There are some people didn't attend their college or university life in prestige school. However, they are good in acquiring skills and knowledge at the same time.
