We all need to get away from it all as it were, occasionally, and what better way than going on a picnic with our loved ones? It could be a weekend affair or just a day picnic. A beach resort seems the best choice or may be just searching for a quiet getaway deep in the woods. Planning itself gets one in a mood. A perfect plan results in a perfect picnic.
Whenever we go on picnics we have a bunch of medleys that we all sing together. The organiser(mostly myself) will print out copies of these medleys and distribute them to all participants specially when we are on our way to the picnic spot. A bus will be engaged and the fun starts right when the driver puts his hands on the steering wheel.
I wonder if you guys also sing medleys and would they be the same as the ones we sing.

Even those who do not normally sing, join in. It is the noise after all that peps up a picnic and what better way than to create that noise by singing together. It also provides some kind of oneness so necessary when a group goes on a picnic. Some picnickers indulge in group activities that do not include all, and that is not how it should be. I remember a picnic when some got away and started playing cricket. Who would want to sit and watch that boring game?
When I organise, I make it a rule about not forming groups although some space is given when everyone is on their own.

This is a good venue to do some activities if the community joined together in one goal. I have a couple of activities when still working as a Community Facilitator. I think they really needed to loosen up before having the meeting with them. I've been missing doing some community projects and my passion is in fire whenever things are getting in progress.
My boss used to say that a holiday or a picnic is essential to loosen up. That is a way to get one renewed energy.
