Like Father, like Son; Repeating the Same Mistakes

There’s more to genetics than hair colour.  It seems the same missing brain cells go from generation to generation.

When George’s 1st marriage ended, he was young and virile, and barely took a breath before grabbing onto another woman.  This one was not American.  He married her, and spent the early part of the relationship getting her citizenship.

In five years, once she was legal and he had a few assets, she provoked a divorce.

Standing a mile away anyone could see the dynamics.  But George didn’t.  He didn’t realise that Wife 2 had married him for what she could get and stayed with him until the house was paid off.  Then divorced him and put George on the road.

George’s son from his first marriage grew up to be just as emotionally unintelligent as he was.

Paul, met and married a woman who was attending a local college on a VISA.  She stayed with him until her papers were in, her citizenship granted, then left.   Paul didn’t grasp what had happened.   He never appreciate that the only reason his ex-wife had married him was to get citizenship.

Five years later he met another woman.  This one had dodgy status.  Paul married her, and immediately they began working on her papers.  It is clear she’ll give him a few more years, and when she’s legit, he’s through the gate.

So Paul has done the same thing twice.

So had Daddy.

George has just married another immigrant. He is spending most of his time getting her papers in order.

Deep in his 60s, one would have thought  George would have learned from Wife 2 and from daughter in law 1 and 2.  But he hasn’t.

George has gone out to find a nice young thing who he thinks ‘loves’ him but is only there to get status.

And when he’s 70, if he owns anything, Wife 3 will take it and put him on the road.
