One might say this quote ‘ A stitch in time saves nine’ does not hold water any more as no one stitches torn clothes or darns them any more. But it could be applied to several other areas pertaining to our day to day life.
Whatever the activity procrastination thereof could have disastrous consequences.Every single activity needs to have a system and method for easy access and performance but due to lethargy we put off what should do then and there resulting in chaos and confusion.
There are countless areas where this could be applies but here in this article I just want to take up one activity and that is the fate of files and folders that we create The activity here would be to save files in the right folders and decide on deleting unwanted files and folders
Unlike in the good old days we now have enough storage space running into hundreds of GBs and that is one reason why we keep everything including spam mails, mails that are no longer needed and files that need to be discarded.

If we open separate folders for different subjects even with regard to our mail then right at the start we would know which of the folders that we need to keep
One of my friends just told me she has over 10, 000 mails in her inbox and sent folders that it is now beyond repair for her to read through and find out what she needs to keep and what needs to be deleted This situation must be quite common
I am no exception. I am a passionate photographer and there is not a day that i do not click. I have a camera folder and everything is dumped in there. I have not given names to those photos. They all have names by default. If I want to search for a peacock image for example I will need a whole day to search.
This article has emerged because of my own failure to follow the rule ‘stitch in time saves nine’ I am at a loss now how to go about sorting out my photos as I have so many subjects, to choose from. I do have folders for each subject and when I am in a mood do save there but I do not do this as a rule. I may soon have to get someone to help me sort this all out.
However, I have taken this as a challenge and hope to put law and order atleast in my collection of photos.
The situation can be kept under control by following a simple method.
There are countless files that we produce each day under different subjects. Each of these subjects should have separate folders.
When a file is being saved rather than saving it in the main folder care should be taken to save it under the subject where it should go. If this is not done to locate a file later will pose a problem.
One should also clear the clutter of files that are not needed.
This article only covers a tip of the iceberg. The clutter that we collect on a daily basis be it in any form needs to be sorted out. Sorting out then and there could be a stitch that saves nine.

Yes, you say right, a stitch in time saves nine is applied in other ways these days . I think it is a proverb and is not used to darn and and stitches in clothes but it actually means if you do any work in time will save you time for other pieces of work at home and out of home.
For if you do school work in time you will get the first position in the class because you did home work in time from the very beginning and stood first.
The same formula is applied in all walk of life but our politicians do not stitch in time the torn clothes of country as poverty and corruption.
I think the countries that acted upon this formula are called progressive and developed countries all over the world. while under developed countries did not stitch in time in the torn country economics clothes and backward on earth.

It is very difficult to apply this saying. I do face the same situation. I do bookmark every site and make a long list of book marks. I do not know how to get rid of this bad habit. Hope you share something more in this connection so that it may help me sorting up my book marks.
I too have a long list of bookmarks. You can do one thing. Open that tab and see if any of the bookmarks have not been used at all by you, which means your enthusiasm on that particular subject has died downand you may not feel the need for it at all. You can delete such bookmarks.
A word stinche time save Nine have to do with a word procasination many people do procasinate when he or she surpose to apply action, for my own understanding were in the moving vehicle and you find out that the vehicle has developed falt and instead of you to stop and find out what the falt is all about and you keep on moving until the vehicle broke down, if you stop and find out what the error that vehicle you have save nine, but if you continue moving until it broke down on the way that stinch time, that is way i understand it.
