Hobbies keep us glued to what we enjoy doing. Our everyday life that has chores that can bore us to death could be a bit lighter if we spare sometime to do what makes us happy.
There are different types of hobbies that one can resort to. Gardening is one such
One does not have to have acres to derive joy from the success of gardening. Even just a pot or two could do that. When one decides on gardening and even restricts oneself to just a pot or two there is activty enough to keep on happily occupied.
Going to a pottery store to pick the right kind of pot, choosing the right kind of soil and finally deciding on what to plant are some activities can keep one’s mind pleasantly occupied.
Once planting is done watching the plant grow just as one would watch a child grow is satisfying enough. The first bud that appears could make one get the feeling that planting was correctly done. Then comes the day when the first flower blooms and that would lead to the idea of increasing one’s activity. It is successful after all that leads to more activity that would kill the boredom that other routine chores are responsible for.
I do not suggest that all should go for gardening. There are so many other activities – painting, free lancing such as attempting to write poetry, short stories, even going on small holidays all this could merge into one’s daily chores thus alleviating boredom and even converting these hobbies into a lucrative opportunity.
My gardening passion resulted in my starting a business designing and executing landscaped gardens. I felt it was a ‘all this and heaven too’ kind of a scenario. What better happiness than when one’s passion starts earning. And those activities done with passion will surely have quality that a customer would be very happy with.

There are so many people who want to beautify their homes and companies who want to make their office buildings look pretty. A person with a passion for gardening will never be out of work! Those are anthuriums which were there in my garden. I now only have one colour - pink.
Even letting plants on hire is lucrative but that needs labour and labour is rare here.

And is true, we can make a small business with it. We can grow flowers in a pot and sell it somewhere.
