I had always wanted to make my home look comfy and warmth 

especially when my hubby and kids come back from work or

 school.

 

I do envy those new showhouse at residential areas, where

 consumers are allowed to visit these new showhouse where you 

can view the household items used as decoration to fit the

 interior design, the bedding, curtains, tableware and kitchen 

usable items

 

Yet, most of the time, I procrastinate to revamp my upside down 

home because I do know that it will cost a huge expenditure. 

 

Fortunately, I found out that I could revamp my home into a luxury

 home within my budget after visiting Ikea Furniture Store.

 

The secret is to purchase decorative items, household items that

 could embrace the home with warm and comfort.

 

Here are 10 ways to make your home look luxury within your 

budget

 

#1 – Cushions

Ever notice that modern hotels used to decorate pretty cushions in

 individual bedrooms? 

Now you can make your living room and bedrooms look inviting, 

a surge for comfort rather than a bare sofa or bed. 

Pretty designed cushion covers, pillow case with silk cover gives

 one a cold, cooling, comfy feeling. 

Cushions attract your guests and loved ones to laze around after a

 tired day.

 

#2- Lamps

 

Browse through decor magazines or visit the lighting shops for 

more ideas.

 You could seek for advice , recommendations within your budget

 from the sales representative.

 If you could take a snapshot of your living room or bedroom, it 

would be easier for them to get a rough idea which lampshade or 

lighting is ideal for the atmosphere. 

Halogen lamps give your room an expensive feel, a chandelier 

lamp that includes glass which sparkle in the dark. 

Reading lamp on the side table of the bed is suitable for those who 

are night owls. 

Choose soft lighting with elegant shades and led light bulbs to save

 energy.

 

#3-Fabrics

Choose fabrics that gives the natural rich color, such as rich velvet.

 Experiment the fabric colors in order to contrast with the pillow

 and cushion colors. 

Ask for someone’s opinion if you are unsure of your choice.

 

#4- Furniture

You don’t have to change the old furniture in your home. 

Look around for those furniture that needed revamp badly. 

For example, you could improve the dining chair upholstered seat 

on your own. 

Decorate Coffee table, living table or dining table with runners,

 table cloth with fancy crochet or silk cover. 

For those furniture which is beyond repair, look out for furniture 

sales during year end.

 More choices to choose from, it is alright to buy “display” set

 because it is cheaper. 

You could save up to 50-70% from the original price.

 

#5- Handles

Change those boring chest drawer handles with new, decorative, 

unique design handles. 

Sleeker new chrome handles produce a new effect on your old

 drawers like magic. 

Door knobs for the bathroom doors, bedrooms and kitchen door, 

change the knobs with handles. 

You can buy these handles at the thrift store.

#6- Legs

If the wooden legs of your dining chair are worn out , swap them 

with metal or chrome legs which give  contemporary luxury look 

on your chairs. 

You don’t have to buy new chairs now or maybe wait until there 

is a big sale at the furniture fair.

 

 

#7- Showerheads

 Most households do not provide bath tub unless your home is a 

bungalow or it was included before purchase. 

You don’t need a bath tub unless you do enjoy a good soaking in

 the soapy filled bath tub which may cost more money 

( used up a lot of water ).

Instead, change your bathroom shower head with bigger one for

 more rain shower on your back.

This shower head is cheap and easy to change in a few minutes.

 

#8- Decorative items

Arrange bathroom decorative items such as a vase of fresh or fake 

plastic flowers, a bowl of plant that grows indoor easily with least 

care or sunlight.

 A basket of soaps, mini bottles of shampoos that you brought back

 from the hotel stay or a fragrance self spray at interval times.

 

#9- Flowers

Fill in pretty short vases with fresh cut flowers from your garden 

or plastic flowers that can last longer from the thrift store. 

Pretty flowers give your home a fresh look from the front view 

when someone enters into the home. 

Vibrant and bright color flowers are distinctive and attractive. 

You don’t need big sunflowers. 

Small flowers are delicate, soft and inviting too.

 

#10- Cutlery and napkins

 

Change you old forks, spoons, knives into silver chrome cutlery 

wares with unique designs. 

Don’t buy plastic or wooden chopsticks that represent cheap wares.

 Throw in cool shade color napkins with beautiful designs on the

 edges.
