Most informal parties are not complete if there are no party games.A well decorated venue, good food and party games bring life to parties.
Being a party organiser I have to think of party games each time, something new.
Here are some party games I have created that could be used for any parties kids as well as adults.
Competitive fun games are normally played in groups. To form groups there are many ways
1. Forming groups
A. Caps with different colours
B, Slips with names of animals or flowers written on it
C. Badges. I had smilies with different features.
D. Coloured paper having different shapes.
Searching for group members brings life to the party. The group that is formed first is normally rewarded. These groups will play all competitive games that would be organised for the day.
2. Passing the parcel
This is no doubt a common game but to break the monotony those who leave the game could be those on the left or right of the one who holds the parcel. This rule can be changed each time making the game exciting.
3. Impromptu Band
The groups are expected to form a band using their imagination. They would have to have a conductor, a crooner and some playing imaginary musical instruments.
This game is hilarious. I remember a group that organised a mute band. There will be judges appointed to select the best band.
4. Shopping spree
Groups are asked to collect items – really funny ones such as a broom, a leaf, a fruit or whatever. This game is a bit noisy and very interesting. They have to run around in different directions and try to collect items and get back as soon as possible. The first group that collects all items is rewarded.
5. A lot of medley singing is what I feel makes a party a thumping success.

Where I come from party games are usually held for kids, like when you are doing a birthday party for a kid all these things are i ncoperated to keep the kids busy, so that they don't have a room to disturb the adults when they are ha ing their adult talks. They also keep them alert and very creative. But if it is an adult party you wouldn't find such things. Maybe in team building events that's where you can get such like events so that people can mingle and get to know each other
What matters is that the guests enjoy themselves at a party. Games for adults is quite common here.
