Our group had a discussion regarding solitude.
That’s the picture that was posted. Every single answer was yes. One thing that people don’t take into consideration with a brain injury is what is going on inside the brain. Most think that once its treated its over. Its not over. For us it will never be over.
The brain has loads of hook ups, and ours on whatever artery/vein gets interrupted. So how we used to do things, changes. The brain compensates where it can and is rewiring so to speak so that we can function. Doesn’t mean we understand the new wiring well, because we didn’t get the blueprints for this new way of seeing things. Just a conversation can be exhausting because its different. Trying to comprehend what you mean, trying to understand your words, reacting to it and then responding is sometimes to much. We tend to curl up in a ball and avoid things that require us to interact. The members in group are reaching out and trying to help one another and seeing that is a beautiful thing to be a part of.

Nobody should have to be in recovery without support. If you’re the caregiver then please join us so that we can let you know hearing the survivor ask the same questions over and over is really not unusual. Having them say no to your ideas of how to help is again not so unusual. We can give you some helpful hints about how to approach a subject and how to help when you feel like there’s no hope.

You are one of the lucky ones Cely, there are so many people who have had a rupture who aren't so lucky. I love working side by side with them to get them back to a comfortable spot after rupture.

Brain attack has four types. Once a person suffered from brain attack, there is a possibility of the occurrence. It takes a lot of extra care of one's body to prevent from having a second attack. However, it also depends on the family medical history of the patient. Lifestyle also needs to be modified.
Family history is very much a consideration, stress is at the top of the list for a rupture to occur, and brain surgery no matter the instance will change things up a bit. Bringing awareness to the table for the signs and symptoms is something we are trying to change. For instance had someone suggested a cat scan or MRI when I was having headaches, probably could've saved me from rupturing. It is indeed as you said a lifestyle change.
Awesome message. Brain Aneurysm and AVM Survivors take years to recover. Great to have support group to lean on.
