I believe majority of us have high piles of clutter paperwork on our desk by the end of the month.
Do you declutter:
A) Immediately
B) Once a week
C) Once a month
D) When you have the mood for spring cleaning your desk
E) Never
It is very irritating to see piles of paperwork getting piled up from a tiny ant hill to a mountain each day.
The worst scenario is having a messy desk with scattered papers, bills, fliers, blown off to the floor when gush of wind suddenly blew in , when someone opens the front door or when you open the ceiling/standing fan.
Piles of papers that are not sorted out induced disadvantages that may cause you trouble if action is not taken spontaneously.
Missed the due dates of monthly utility bills, tax invoices, car loans, housing loans, credit card bank statements, etc
You will be penalized with fines ( not hefty fines) if you had
paid AFTER the due date stated in the bills.
You could save these little money if you pay on time.
You will not be able to track down your monthly expenditure if you do not organize your paperwork.
Overspending your monthly budget may exceed your monthly salary instead.
Sort out the bills so that you could calculate your expenditure and make plans for the next month spending.
Decluttering helps you to save money too.
Having difficulties to track down the big sales, discounts, offers date validity.
Every month, merchants from supermarkets, fastfood restaurants or dine in restaurants often advertised big offers and discounts.
Cut out the fliers or ads and paste them on the fridge / whiteboard where everyone can see.
You could also write out the dates and remarks on a whiteboard to remind yourself of the discount dates
Alternatively, set reminders in your smartphone with alarm reminders.
When you need them, you can’t find them!
Makes you panic searching for vouchers, coupons, bills, letters that you needed for daily tasks.
Declutter your paperwork, categorize them according to dates so that you won’t missed out.
Alternatively, you should get files or file holders to keep the categorized paperwork in proper place.
For example:
Bills filing, letters filing, shopping receipts filing, etc
Hence, it will be easier for you to search for the required paper that you are looking for instead of scavenging through the messy piles of papers.
Do not jot down your important :
on scrap of papers, stick on notes or even your smartphone.
You might lose your important details when you accidentally threw the papers or notes away, without looking through carefully.
Losing your smartphone is the worst thing that could happen when strangers could excess into your phone details.
It is alike you are opening your front door for the thieves to get your valuables
Your friends or other family members could also excess into your accounts without your knowledge.
This may pose inconvenience and disadvantages to you when your privacy is opened to the public.

Wow you have completely read my mind. I used to have that problem of decluttering, I always kept receipts in my wallet until I can't even have space to put anything. Until I realized how messy it could turn out to be. So each time I go out shopping I make sure I have checked the receipt for any important information before I discard it. If it is something that I may need to use later then there is a folder that I got that I use to keep those kinds of receipts. But if they're not important I throw them away that will help me keep my wallet clean and free of many papers that don't make any sense. I like the way you have laid it all out am sure most of us if not all have had some kind of issue with that thanks for sharing.
Hmm... I can see that you are very methodical and these are some very useful tips.
When I was still working in my previous regular jobs, I usually declutter most of the paperworks. I had experienced so many things during these working days. But now, most my paperworks are virtually done. I had been working online teacher and student's feedback about his or her performance will be done virtually.
