5 Benefits of Ginger & Home Remedy for Cold

Brief History of Ginger

Ginger were actually first planted in China

but was widely used by the ancient Romans

in delicious cuisine and medicinal treatment

for various illness.

After the fall of Roman empire, nobody use

the ginger anymore because it was an

expensive spice where only the rich could

afford.

Hence, it was lost in the history until the

Europeans found and reuse the ginger again.

Thanks to them !

5 Benefits of Using Ginger

#1 : Treats cold-

Ginger clears heat and aids in stimulating

sweats in the body.

Ginger enables the body to produce heat by

warming up the body.

Once the sweat had been released, wipe it off

 before it turns into vapor.

Cold sweat will develop bones and muscle

 aches if left unattended.

Ginger treats cold faster than anti-biotics

or pills.

#2 : Warm Up Upset Stomach-

People who love to crunch cold ice with their

teeth and eat excess cold food or beverages

are prone to upset stomach due to

accumulation of coldness temperature in

weak stomach.

Hence, some may develop hiccups, nausea or

 vomiting symptoms.

 and emotions.

A cup of warm ginger tea helps to reduce

the motion sickness gradually.

#4: Stop coughing-

i) irritating throat that triggers frequent

coughing and common cold such as running

nose and nose block could prevent children

or adults from having a comfortable sleep.

In order to soothe the itchy throat from

coughing, drink a cup of warm ginger tea mix

 with 1 tsp of honey.

Drink it slowly while it is warm as ginger and

honey help to reduce the itch and stop

coughing.

ii) Alternatively, heat 1 slice of ginger with

burning charcoal or toast it in a toaster.

Rub the heated side onto the patient’s neck

while it is hot as the ginger heat will absorb

into the neck tissue.

iii) Caution! Apply on adult only.

May induce red patches.

#5 : Stimulate hair growth-

This is an unique technique to stimulate

hair growth if you keep losing your hair

due to ringworm infections.

    • @peachpurple. A detailed blog as usual. I did not know ginger stimulates hair growth. Is it to be applied on one's hair or just consumed? This information could help millions as problems with hair growth is universal.

    • Ginger has all the benefits you had mentioned. Old folks in my country use this as ginger tea. They also believed drinking this kind of tea makes the voice get better. Some singers claimed they use this to make their voice sounds good when singing. It is a very traditional way and effective to heal the coughing and makes the hoarse sound voice better.

      • Yes ginger has a great effect on the vocal cords. It soothes it, especially when it is taken as a tea

    • Nice and informative post you have there.

The potency of ginger in treating various ailments cannot be overemphasized.
