17th Century Baroque And Rococo Architecture And Arts

Before this period, there were many emergencies of artists. All their artworks were based from Greeks.  Greeks had many contributions to the world like Mathematics, Politics, Physics, Medicine, Philosophy, Sports, Science, Chemistry and more. They were the reasons why we have World Olympics. In relation to arts, exact measurement through mathematics were introduced, that is why we can see in their artworks from Greeks, Medieval period, Renaissance, Realism, Neo- Classicism, Romanticism artworks in nudity. Besides, man was the central figure of arts and through this they learned and even this time we also learned that if man has a sound mind, he also has a sound body. Art subject man in the nude is art. Man makes art, and art is with math.

So, in the Baroque century, their architecture varied from that of the Rococo. Baroque architecture was in order, while Rococo not. They never cared about one quality of art which is order. The Rococo arts were erratic, frivolous, and unpredictable. Their architecture showed parts of it spiral and twists. Their stairs are spiral and twists; you will surely get dizzy climbing even three story building. What causes your dizziness would surely fall to the twists and spiral architectural arts. Their paintings were observed as having a writer that never cared about the appearance of his subject. The mind is erratic so it could be shown through their artworks.

On the other hand, the Baroque architecture has the following characteristics not found in Rococo which are opulence, exaggerated, exuberance, and dynamic, strong. The perceivers would be discerned .Their stairs are winding almost the same as Rococo which has twists and spiral architectural works.

During the 17th century baroque and Rococo famous musicians emerged such as Sebastian Bach, Vivaldi and Handel. They are greatest composers and musicians. Their music has the following forms: orchestra, cantata, oratorio, symphony, sonata and opera. Each of these has its own description as to their platform in the theater during their show down or presentation. Even this time, these musical forms are still adapted like orchestra, cantata, symphony and others. We owe all these musical form during the 17th century Baroque and Rococo. At the end of the century, end of the baroque and Rococo saga and introduced next the Neo- Classicism.

There was also greatest reformed during the 17th century. This reform was led by Martin Luther and his companions Calvin and Knox. They organized reformed against the Catholic Church for they believed that the church and their priests had done great abuses to the people. This was the time a new religion was organized the Protestant church.

Without people, artists and musicians in the past, we would never know about music and its forms. We owe much to Greeks and the succeeding centuries.

    • I am lucky enough to live near Oxford in the UK and it is easy to get to London, so I can wander round the art galleries a lot. I rather wish I had paid a bit more attention to this period when I did art history at University, but I was more interested in modern art back then. It was certainly an interesting age.

    • It is one of the most interesting periods and it yielded very beautiful architecture and painting. I consider it one of my favorites and I hope to be able to visit all the places that have famous buildings in this style.
