Worst Songs Ever Written:
What do you think the worst song ever written was? I guess this is a really hard thing to decide on as it depends on what your definition is of the worst song. Is it one with awful music, one with no real instruments, one with cheesy lyrics or just perhaps anything in a Genre you don’t like.
I love most genres of music so I couldn’t rule out entire sections, and I also don’t mind cheesy lyrics so that wouldn’t work for me so I guess you must judge things on their individual merits. Now I did a lot of research on this topic and there are a lot of lists available on this topic, some voted by people some by critics and some just individuals choices.
For the sake of these articles I am going to use the list compiled by listchallenges.com because it’s a fun site and because I got to check them off at the same time as writing.
100 – Ke$ha – My First Kiss – I don’t know this song and I probably don’t want to as it’s voted the 100th worst song ever written.
99 – MIMS – This is why I’m Hot – With a title like that and a lot of bling on the cover I can tell straight away I don’t need to listen to this to realise I am not going to be a fan.
98 – David Hasselhoff – Looking for Freedom – The phenomenon of David Hasselhoff strikes again; the really strange thing is that his music is actually really popular in Europe.
97 – Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney – The girl is mine – With this much A list on one single you would expect pop gold but you just get a really whiney op song with not much too it. Disappointing all round. Not quite sure I think it is bad enough to be on this list though.
96 – James Blunt – You’re Beautiful – This is an absolute scandal. I love this song and will never change my mind no matter how many people think I am wrong. In fact, I might add this to my song of the day series to show it some love.
95 – Lou Bega -Mambo Number 5 – I can’t give an honest opinion on this one as it was a huge part of my child hood holiday memories so will always have a special place in my heart.
94 – Aaron Carter – American A O – This is a time of music that everyone would just be better forgetting about, sorry for reminding you :/
93 – Jenifer Lopez – Jenny from the Bloc – Now my partner agrees that this song deserves to be on the list purely because Jennifer Lopez wasn’t still form the bloc. I think that’s a bit harsh. What do you think?
92- Rupert Holmes – Escape the Pina Colada Song – Now this is a strange one because it is a great song but the concept is so ludicrous I think it probably does deserve its spot on the list. The thought that a couple that were both about to have an affair would find it funny that their new dates where each other is just crazy, it would have ended up in divorce 100%.
91 – Ini Kamoze – Here Comes the Hotstepper – This song is just awesome, that is all.
90 – Don Johnson – Heartbeat – Another one I don’t know but it seems like an 80s-cheese ball.
Keep a look out for the next instalment.
