The situation in Philippines has reached the stage where unfortunately drastic steps have to be adopted to curb the menace of drugs and other contraband, smuggling and corruption related to these unfortunate vices. Unfortunately the people who have got deeply entrenched in this system and trade will not be able to come out easily out of the mess which has been created over the period of neglect by respective governments. To cure such people who have got addicted to drugs. The rehabilitation has to be carried also at an aggressive pace as the law to punish the people involved is being implemented. While the intention of the President to rid the country of drugs is very noble. The human angle of dealing of the trouble makers also has to be found in a holistic way. While killing the people involved in the crime may serve as an immediate measure. But it is a short lived one and the long term cause analysis and solution has to be found out to once and for all rid not only of Philippines but also of the whole world of the drug menace which is very rampant and is eating into the vitals of the human society. Regarding what is being done in Philippines to solve the problem only time will tell what the result of the approach will be. Till then the world will have to wait and watch the happenings.
