A lot has happened since the beginning of the year, but my favorite movie that made me be overcome with emotion was the movie called Lion, its about an indian boy who was separated from his brother when his brother did not come to pick him up from the train where he left. He ended up taking the wrong train that would separate him from his family forever. To cut the long story short, he ended up in an kids orphanage after which he was adopted by a family from Australia. 20 years passed and he still had memories of his past, being separated from his brother and mother. At the time he was still enrolled in college and thanks to technology he started looking for his native place where he came from. As he was about to give up, he was able to locate his home thanks to his good memory. He took a plane back to India and the following day he started tracing his way back home. He immediately had memories flashing back as he walked there since it had not changed at all and besides it was a rural place. He slowly located that place only to find that no one lived there and it was only inhabited by goats. He was disappointed and as he almost gave up, he ran into a lady who could barely speak English, as he asked her where the original inhabitants of that house were. Luckily a man who understood and spoke English came to his rescue. He was shocked to realise that Saroo as he went by his name lived there because he looked so different from people in that surrounding. The man then recognized the small passport photo of Saroo and then told him to follow him. He walked for a few miles and his instincts started catching up. The man in return waved to him and told him to keep following him. Then from a distance, he saw a woman being led by other women and you could tell that she was his mother. It was a very painful reunion. I shed tears myself. He learnt later that his brother passed away the same night they got separated. He was hit by a train. Everyone should definitely try catching a glimpse of this movie…its a masterpiece in the making.
