    After reading the words of the South African President, am still tempted to ask why Buhari opted to embarrass himself and debase Nigerian Youths instead of seeking for the support of Commonwealth in tackling the Nation’s economic challenges. Or could it possibly be that Buhari failed to recall his location when he made this unfavourable statement? Your guess is similar to mine.

    Let also consider the words of Theresa May, the British Prime Minister at the Commonwealth Business Forum;

    “The young people of today are the Commonwealth of tomorrow, its business leaders, its innovators, its heads of government.
    They have incredible potential, and we as a Commonwealth have a duty to help them reach it. That is why i have put youths at the heart of this week’s agenda, and why i began this morning by meeting with some of the Youth Forum’s delegates”.

    Majority of the leaders present at the meeting knows the impact of youths in the development of every Nation and their indisputable influence in world’s rapid growth. But Buhari instead of acknowledging the potency of Nigerian Youths and their collective efforts toward achieving a better Nigeria, ended up degrading Nigerian Youths internationally. This level of international ignominy attracted on we Nigerian Youths by Buhari is disastrous and pregnant with mischief.

    Who would willingly invest in a country dominated with lazy youths? Who would respect a country whose majority of Youths are illiterate?
    Who would ever dream of visiting a country dominated with Youths who “sit and do nothing” but wants free housing, free healthcare and education?

    Even though he must castigate the Youths, must it be at international level?

    People who are emotionally attached to Buhari won’t apply their intelligence in order to understand the catastrophic nature of his comment about Nigerian Youths. This set of people fallaciously believes Buhari is above mistake.

    Buhari had never taken the menace of his fellow herdsmen to international level, but he insolently took it upon himself to deject and degrade Nigerian Youths on a vital occasion.

    Most leaders across the globe strive to attract foreign investment because of its acknowledged advantages as a tool for economic development. Foreign investment is assumed to benefit a developing country like Nigeria, not only by supplementary domestic investment but also in terms of employment creation, transfer of technology, increased domestic competition and other positive externalities. Buhari instead of using the opportunity presented to him by Commonwealth Forum to attract foreign investors, he shamelessly described how irrelevant it is to invest in Nigeria due to high level of illiteracy and laziness among the Youths.

    It is very crucial to note that Buhari’s comment regarding Nigerian youth would play an eminent role in boosting the whites’ racism against Africans. This would further accelerate their belief that the whites are superhumans while Africans are sub-humans. This would exceedingly make them believe strongly in their supremacy while they focus on our stupidity.

    However, at the midst of the cons of Buhari’s unguarded comment lies its substantial benefits. Buhari’s proclamation has indeed aroused the interest of the Youths in the political sector of Nigeria. Though many Nigerian Youths still support and defend wicked, idiotic and clueless politicians whose sole aim of governance is to enrich themselves. These politicians have mortgaged the future of the youths for their selfish benefits, but many Youths still naively supports them.

    The Youths after hustling in this hard time, would buy data with their hard earned money to defend viruses ignorantly known as leaders. Is this act not a symptom of Laziness? Am sure Buhari is right in this regard.

    The youths as a result of their laziness would stay at the comfort of their room complaining of bad leadership even when they don’t have voter’s card. Is this act not a symptom of Laziness? I also commend Buhari in this regard.

    The same Youths instead of joining hands to disprove and sack old and wicked leaders who derives pleasure from destroying our country, would rather opt to fight themselves, attack themselves on social media, volunteer themselves as thugs to politicians and kill themselves for no reason. Are all these acts not symptoms of Laziness?

    Let me summarize this piece by encouraging all Nigerian Youths to come together as one irrespective of our various religious beliefs and equip ourselves with voter’s card in order to put an end to international embarrassment, unwarranted humiliation, economic hardship, herdsmen menace, selective corruption fight, killings and other innumerable misfortunes.
