Most of the times i prefer the book because they have more details to it. The story becomes complete with all these little details and you can imagine the things they say in your head and the way you want.

When they adapt a book to a movie they tend to lose some details along the way. Especially because it is rare that you can get a whole book…[Read more]

I agree with your view that when we look at society and the world in general this is the feeling one gets regarding celebration of Women’s Days. It is very ironical when seen in many different contexts. That is the sad reality which we are faced with today in different parts of the world. Sarah Freitas wrote a new post, You can be sucessful without a degree 7 years, 8 months ago

Now a days most people can get a good job with decent pay unless they have a certain degree in that area. You need to study a lot to get the dream job you want and that has a salaray that can stabilize your life. […]

    • A degree is only for the academic qualification. The subjects which the person has chosen will only aid him theory for the practical experience one has to work at a company related to the degree or subjects which he is pursuing. Once the college is over and you have a degree in your hand one has to go out and apply what he or she has learnt in the place where they have found a job and prove their mettle. Experience forms a very important of any individuals career and growth path. Social skills, interactive nature, inter personal skills, communication skills, public relations and applying the knowledge which one has got at the right place and at the right time all form an important part in increasing ones ability to get employed.

In our country there are many educated unemployed graduates and engineers as they are not upto the mark and are unable to apply the knowledge which they have learnt. Such education as what these people do by rote learning is of no use and results in waste of time and resources. The education system too is very academic oriented which does not help the purpose. Now there are interviews in the colleges from the second year itself. But only the best among the best make the cut leaving a big chunk of student who are average or below average ineligible for the kind of job for which they are studying degree. Education is a foundation on which the structure of other skills and experience mentioned above have to be build to make one a marketable commodity in the job market. Employers here ask if you have degree do you have experience and if someone is having experience he will be told you do not have a degree. All this is done to reduce costs for the company by cutting the salary which has to be paid. It is a sorry state of affairs.

      • The thing here is that when people lauch a job offer they always put the minimum someone needs to have of school. Graduate, vocational courses or even degrees. Not alot of people have these things but people can still learn. If someone is taught to do something and they have the ability to learn and expand in a company then why not give it a try.

Some people get colleague degrees and still have a hard time getting a job. You need to be hard working and not give up on what you want. Even without a degree if you go to a job interview but before do research on the job and see what you might have to do their and give a good presentation then they should at least recognize that you are trying to get the job and you are interested in learning what it takes to do so.

    • Most graduates or those who have a degree get employed in good jobs than those who does not have one; unless the manager gives more value to attitude and willingness to learn of a job applicant.

It is so nice if a poor young man or young woman who are intelligent enough but did not get a degree because they are poor, are given the opportunity to work in an office or in a good job. I do give more value to work attitude than to a diploma.

      • Yes, this should be valued, some people try their best to get into a job they think they could learn and don’t have a chance because they don’t have a certificate stating you went to school. School is a place where you learn but you never learn exactly what a certain company does and need to adapt.

I took a vocational course in accounting and you know what i came to work to a metal shop as an assistant but i go out to the shop and help them build fences, paint gates, fix garbage trucks. I am willing to learn. I am a girl working in a man’s world and i love it. My boss know i like to learn these things.

I was lucky because there were 3 people chosen to stay with the position including an engineer and they chose me (i worked with them on a summer job) because they knew that i would be stuck to the desk and would want to go out and help. I try my best to help out with anything i can and learn what i can.

Sarah Freitas wrote a new post, Could you leave the internet for good? 7 years, 8 months ago

In this Era we are all connected by the internet. We use it to call people, hang out on social media sites, watch movies and much more. We almost do everything on the internet. In the 90’s we haredly had […]

    • I don’t think I will leave the Internet for good because Internet is still there, I am always tempted. I used internet for researching a lot of stuff and it is very helpful so why would i leave it. I will use it while it is there and of course, I will feel bad if it is gone for good. I don’t think it will happen as everyday, Internet is improving in some countries.

      • Well we never kow what could happen if suddenly a satelite goes down or we lose all our energy there will be no way to get back on the internet and we could be sent back into the dark ages. This is always a possibility.

    • I will live happily even if there is no internet. I use it only for the purpose which it is supposed to be used. I do not want to be a slave for anything by getting addicted to it. Be it television, computers, online games, facebook or any such thing. There are meant for us and not the other way round. Before writing here I was viewing television regularly for many hours and used to take the information for the purpose of using the same while teaching. Now since I am writing I am not seeing any television since past three months. Similarly tomorrow if there was to be no computer of internet for me I would not worry and am happy to live life in a manual mode.

One more interesting detail I would like to share with you. I was working at a place where I had to be there at seven in the morning and be back in the house at eleven in the evening. I was unable to read the newspaper hence had to read it in the night and viewing television was impossible. So I was thinking what to do and then I decided to remove cable connection and I felt relieved as I could come home read newspaper and magazines and was perfectly happy without television for two years. Later I took the connection again as someone else in my house was there who wanted to view it. Hope you found this information useful.

      • Wow living without television for two years! I don’t actually see television but i see my series online and on my computer when i have the chance. I am more a person to play a game or go drink a coffee with friends and hangout.

    • I can survive without the internet, though it might be boring because I could not write on blogsites like this. Never mind social media sites, because we can still have our cellphones and text our friends. We can still get news from television or from the radio as we used in the past.

People will interact more with each other on a personal basis unlike today where everyone seems to always in a virtual world!

      • That is true. Maybe people will start treating people like, hum, i dont know, people instead of a profile on the internet. People will finally go out and socialize and take pictures for theirselves and memories and not to show off to others.

    • I think I have spent enough time on internet that I can’t leave internet anymore. It’d be really bad for me to leave internet from here onwards. I just rely on lot of money from internet for this to happen.

Nature is both beautiful and devastating. And it can be interesting to see how it can change the shape of the planets. It works in such a random way that we don’t know how to prepare ourselves for the changes. It […]

    • All the phenomena mentioned above have their destructive streak. There are many active volcanoes in different parts of the world the nearest one to us being in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. There are also many active volcanoes in Japan, Italy, South America, Africa and even in Ireland here the volcano erupted from the ice and was so shown on television. When we think of Tsunami the most recent ones which did the most damage are the ones in Japan and they rebuilt the country back to normal very fast the second one is in our own India. This started from Indonesia from under the ocean as a earthquake occured. The waves reached countries in Bay of Bengal, Indian ocean and also went till Oman in the Arabian Sea region. This caused wide spread destruction.

Lightnings, floods and landslides are a common happening in many parts of the world and in India too. Floods and Occur annually and deforestation is also resulting in large scale landslides especially in the mountain regions in North India. Hectares of lands are flooded during monsoons and cause widespread damage to crops and loss to farmers. Deaths due to lightnings are normal in rural areas people are ignorant or fail to appreciate and follow safety measures which have to be put in place. Even in cities like Mumbai deaths due to landslides take place every monsoon. Hope these inputs are useful.

    • Your family made the right decision to consult an alternative doctor. Congrats, your father and father-in-law are still fine in spite of past medical conditions.

      • Indeed, we were so happy they both survived.

Although, my father-in-law is still being made to take the anti-cancer pill. He is a stubborn man, would eat even when being told to stop because he has taken enough. So, he is back to having big belly and fat.

Unlike my father, who really followed what his alternative doctor has advised him.

I would always tell my father-in-law of what to do basing on what my father has been advised by his alternative doctor, but to no avail. Well, anyway , at least I have done my part of admonishing him about his ailment. It’s up to him now, if he still wants to live longer or not.

    • That’s why when we are told that we have cancer, we should not lose hope. We should just follow what the doctor advises, take the medication and change our lifestyles.

Actually, it is our positive attitude that can help us to battle it. Worrying will stress us and aggravate the cancer, since it is said that stress can make us sick much more have cancer.
