If the wifi bar is 3 and above, nope I don’t see the alligator

However, if I had hot the submit button for my new post and the alligator pops up, my post had received by the LB team because I could see “awaiting for approval” stated.

    • Your family must be truly blessed with the type of dishes you churn out for them. This recipe is one such. Not many would cook such varieties as you do. Kudos to you.

    • This is my all-time fave and I never fail to have it when I visit Swensen’s. That is by far the best Black Pepper Seafood Spaghetti I’ve ever had. Oh well, it isn’t a common dish that can be found in most pasta places so not many for me to compare with. But still, I think Swensen’s rendition is really good. Just thinking about it makes me drool……

Black pepper sauce, teriyaki sauce, sweet and sour sauce, thai sweet chilli sauce are some of my fave sauces. Mr Tan always says that I’m eating the sauce more than the food itself. I like to think that the sauce makes the food even more delish!

This is very similar to Black Pepper Seafood Udon, just that I’m using spaghetti and didn’t add in any eggs to it. Also cut down on the sauces to make it a little less fattening (trying to deceive myself). I love both dishes so they’ll be taking turns to show up at my dinner table. 🙂

      Ingredients
      – 100 strands of spaghetti
      – 4 button mushrooms
      – 6 green prawn cutlets
      – 2 crabsticks
      – 1 tablespoon of olive oil
      – 3 stalks of corriander (because I love them!)

      Sauce
      – 2 tablespoons of Lee Kum Kee Black Pepper Sauce
      – 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
      – 1 teaspoon of soy sauce
      – 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil
      – 1/2 tablespoon of Shaoxing Wine (optional)
      – 1 tablespoon of black pepper
      – 1 teaspoon of sugar
      – 1 teaspoon of Knorr chicken powder
      – 100ml of water
*Combine all together in a bowl

      Directions
      1. Fill a pan with water, add in some salt and bring it to boil
      2. Cook spaghetti for about 7 – 11 minutes or until al dente (follow the instructions on the package)
      3. Remove cooked spaghetti from pan and set aside
      4. Heat olive oil in pan
      5. Add mushrooms, prawns and crabsticks and stir-fry till cooked
      6. Stir in combined sauce into pan
      7. Add spaghetti back into pan and mix well with the ingredients and sauce
      8. Serve and garnish with my fave corriander!

    • Black pepper (Piper nigrum), as you know, is considered as an all-purpose seasoning of the universe. In fact, it is regarded as the world’s most traded spice.

Recently, several three-star restaurants in Europe, especially at the state of Monaco, have been using this seasoning. It became very popular because of its ability to enhance the flavors of dishes and make it more appetizing.

In recent years, research studies show that black pepper contains potent substances that possess healing prowess.

Indeed, black pepper has been used by the ancients in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Chinese must have vital reasons in using black pepper as a medicinal herb. Piperine, an alkaloid that gives the sharp and pungent taste of black pepper is responsible for its many health benefits.

Here are some of the most beneficial health effects of black pepper:

      improves blood circulation
      promotes mental clarity
      improves digestion
it is both an anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial
it is a good source of manganese, iron, and chromium
improves the body’s ability to absorb vitamins and nutrients from foods
      helps treat fatigue and tiredness
      stimulates appetite
      lowers blood pressure

Now, the use of black pepper is booming in many restaurants in Europe. Black pepper is so widely used as it can be applied on almost all kinds of delicacies such as cakes, meats, fish, spaghettis, pickles, dressings, soups, and so on. You just name it and black pepper will give a unique special aroma and taste to your meals.

    • I found it very easy to bond with my newborns. Maintaining that bond as they got older, especially when they made it into their teen years? WOW! Super hard! The outside influences are like monsters!

      • Treathyl
Yes I agree with you that when our kids become teens, it is harder to bond the relationship, different opinion and ideas

When they are young, it is easier to get them listen to us and lots of hugs, kisses, when they are older, they push us away from hugs and kisses

    • Nature bonds a mother and the baby. It is a natural instinct. Just look how a baby behaves even the moment it is born. It will give out its first cry. It will smile. It knows how to suck the milk. The list is endless.

Many pregnant mums do have a misunderstanding that they are eating for 2 people during pregnancy period.

You are what you eat, and your baby is what you eat

In other words, how your baby turns out wh […]

    • That’s a lot of food right there that pregnant women should not take, I am even lost for words what else is there left to eat? I know vegetables is a must, literally all the foods that are not supposed to be eaten have been mentioned above I don’t think I can add up anything else. or maybe chilies are pregnant women allowed to have spiced food with chilies, take wine after food, maybe that one should also be talked about because there are people like me who like spiced food and that could cause problems for me when I get pregnant could you kindly expound on this, it would help quite a lot to know. Thanks for sharing the information.

    • These would be some very good tips for pregnant women and they would benefit a lot from these.
I am also sharing these ahead.

    • nice tips for pregnant women

    • Pregnancy is such a funny thing, yes i agree that our baby is what we eat. But sometime during pregnancy your baby decides what you can and cannot eat. I remember when I was pregnant I couldn’t eat meat none at all throughout my entire pregnancy. I craved vegetables and salty foods and if I even tried eating meat my stomach would get upset and I would have terrible vomiting. Even simply having a glass of water was hard for me, as I would throw up whenever I tried having a drink. Every woman have different experience and it seems to me like the baby has its own appetite while inside of the womb.

peachpurple wrote a new post, Loneliness Link to Alzheimer’s Disease 8 years, 4 months ago

Everyone has to grow old one day.

Your memory may gradually failed you and your concentration power may decline sharply.

This is one of the sign of Alzheimer’s Disease which is lurking among elderly […]

    • Living alone does not mean they have no activity. It is the activity that often connects with other people that can enliven loneliness and thus keep Alzheimer’s disease away.

    • I think that progressive mental deterioration that can occur in middle or old age, due to generalized degeneration of the brain. It is the commonest cause of premature senility.

Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks.

Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging, although the greatest known risk factor is increasing age, and the majority of people with Alzheimer’s are 65 and older. But Alzheimer’s is not just a disease of old age. Up to 5 percent of people with the disease have early onset Alzheimer’s (also known as younger-onset), which often appears when someone is in their 40s or 50s.

I have read that lthough current Alzheimer’s treatments cannot stop Alzheimer’s from progressing, they can temporarily slow the worsening of dementia symptoms and improve quality of life for those with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Today, there is a worldwide effort under way to find better ways to treat the disease, delay its onset, and prevent it from developing.

peachpurple wrote a new post, 10 Painless Way to Lose Weight 8 years, 4 months ago

Whether you are in your twenties or forties, you may be starting to worry about your weight if someone had left remarks that you are overweight

In fact, female teenagers are more weight conscious w […]

    • Good advice, especially about eating whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables. As far as the fats are concerned, some new research suggests that fat is less of an issue for weight gain than previously thought. And we actually need some healthy fats with our vegetables (e.g. salad dressing) in order to help us obtain the full benefits of the fat-soluble vitamins like vitamins A & D.

BTW, obesity is a major concern when people are poor and cannot afford enough healthy food. It has often been touted as a disease of affluence but in study after study, those individuals most likely to be overweight or obese were the elderly who live on fixed income and members of low-income families.

Many of these people depend on refined (white) carbohydrates for the bulk of their calories in the day because foods like white rice and pasta, potatoes, and white breads and instant breakfast cereals tend to be both inexpensive and frequently donated to food banks or soup kitchens. There are a lot of calories in these foods but few other nutrients besides carbs, in comparison with fresh vegetables and whole grain products.

    • Those are some very good tips that someone would use to cut weight. I totally agree this could be a good and easy way to loose Wight. I guess it’s all about what we put in our mouths that counts. Am glad that personally I do try to eat the above foods that you have mentioned. I also never skip my meals, I always make sure that i have had my breakfast because that is what keeps me going throughout the way, I don’t get to binge eating.
With all that done I also try to keep up with my exercises, that’s very very important. When we are loosing weight we don’t just want to burn the days off of our bodies, but we are also burning calories, and at th3 same time we also want to keep fit and have a well toned body right? This ar3 things I keep in mind all the time.
But the one thing am really greatful about is the fa t that i don’t struggle with weight. Usually when I get stressed out the first thing that starts going down is my weight. I tend to loose weight quite fast when am stressed out so that saves me from having to reduce my eating at some point.Let me just say I loose weight naturally without working too hard. But again I ha e to be really careful when am relaxed because I gain weight just as fast.

    • Great tips for parents, Peachy dear! It is so easy to feel overwhelmed with our parenting duties and the other obligations we have in life. Moms and Dads need all the help we can get 🙂

    • It’s true that parenting has it’s ups and downs. It can be very challenging at times and that’s why parents are always reminded to be same and try to avoid getting mad all the time because that never helps a family. I do agree with your sentiments we need to take care of ourselves, by eating well exercising because these are very vital in our everyday life. Sometimes people can get frustrated because of th3 kids or the many demands of th3 family and that can be very stressing. But from what I have gathered over the years it’s good to keep life simple all a issues whenever they crop up and always go a an ear to your partner that way misunderstandings will be a thing of the past.
