You can be right. Children blowing up inheritance is a real challenging topic. Would like to mention that I am unmarried yet. So, what happens when children blow up inheritance and how parents manage it? – I don’t know.

Anyways,  converting 1 million Dollars to 1 billion (1000 times multiplication) is a big challenge. The trick is to start small and scale fast. If you read through @ruby3881 – she suggested investing 1 million Dollars for a better world. Such topics may not be relevant now but 10 years later, more and more people will run behind them. This is the market we need to tap right now.

I prefer to write whatever I feel like. My interests range from topics as personal as general spirituality to professional like online earning and general topics like health matters as well. On different blogs, I write differently. I myself don’t know which topic I feel like writing when.

On online writing websites, I first decide what am I supposed to write and align goals accordingly.

@swalia – It is good to know that you are an astrologer. I wanted to learn astrology but never got time for that. Hopefully, I can learn from your blog.

@rapidblue – Online earning websites happen to be evergreen topic. You happen to be most knowledgeable in this regard. Can you refer me to some legit high paying websites?

It is not about spending 1 million Dollars in a haste rather focused on letting them grow. You are not plainly spending but converting them. I tried to keep it funny while keeping it somewhat realistic. This is nothing from SEO perspective as I know little about SEO.

@ruby3881 and @kaka135 – Have read your posts too. They are funny and interesting. Yes, we can use this to work 2 ways. First to improve the world and second – quite long term – to let our money grow as well.

The niche you mentioned – astrology AND meaningful living are evergreen topic and will work provided you do some research on SEO. The revenue model is to use: Self Selling rather than Advertising.

Advertising works slow and really slow. Email marketing and self selling can make you millionaire.

Also, please note that you need to promote similar products if you wish to go for Affiliate marketing.

Blogging works slow but at least it aids you on your journey of entrepreneurship.

I came to know from one of your blogposts that you are a teacher. You can definitely use your knowledge and experience to strategic benefit. Think deeply and you shall find the answer.

Coming to the actual ways to make money – As already seen there are multiple ways to make money.

Which one suits you and which doesn’t – let us prepare a questionnaire which your customers will ask you. You can’t decide what suits you till you answer these questions.

1. Advertising

There are various options like popups, popunders, banners, text, videos etc.

Q: Why as a user should they click on those popups and popunders when they know that those ads will distract?

Q: Why should users visit your website with video ads when the ads decrease website loading time and put unnecessary pressure on user’s memory?

Q: Why as a publisher you have chosen for advertizing when you know that it won’t earn more than 5$ a month under general conditions?

2. Affiliate marketing

Q: If as a customer, if I need to buy a mobile from Amazon, I would go directly to Amazon, why would I come to you?

Q: How will you monetize if the user clicks the link with the intention to buy but suddenly decides not to buy?

3. Self selling (selling your own stuff)

Q: It requires sophisticated e-commerce technology. Do you have that competency?

Q: You are selling a product. Are you sure that a cheaper and better variant is not available anywhere?

4. URL Shortener

Q: People tend to ignore your website / blacklist it if majority of URL are found shortened. After all URL shorteners use popup ads. If that happens to you, what will you do?

Only, if you find satisfactory answers to questions above, you can be successful. Your answer is totally yours so take your time.

I know you might be questioning relevance of questions stated above, but the questions are coming from research and should not be ignored.

I suggest going with unconventional method. If you want to go with advertizing – contact advertizers directly rather than 3rd party webservers like adsence, adhitz, infolinks, revenuehitz – so that you can save on commissions and fees. If you want to go with affiliate marketing, go with Clickbank rather than Amazon. Clickbank has better commission and the products are digital. Self Selling is always best method but I recommend to sell digital products only. Rest all is up to you.

@swalia – I dont know what do you mean by personal blog as such but let me guess. There are 2 meanings.

First – You chose a niche which is too personal (Who are you, what you do, dairy writing etc.). The articles on this blog are random thoughts.

Second – You are writing an independent blog and you alone are administrator there with no 3rd party involvement. This blog is a fix focusing on topics which cover your competencies.

Now comes, fundamental question – how you make money from blogging?

Technically speaking, there is only 1 way to make money – buying and selling goods and services.

You are selling spaces on your blog to advertisers – we call it advertising.

You are selling goods by someone else – we call it affiliate marketing

You are selling your own goods – we call it self selling.

You are selling URL links – we call it link shortener.

In either case, you need some customers.

By Customer, I mean traffic – they will click on your ads, they will purchase the products you market.

The definition of personal blogging is important here.

If your blog belongs to 1st category – traffic will be lesser unless articles are made SEO friendly. (You need to chose titles like How I made $1 million in 60 Days rather than plain how to be rich techniques OR how I lost 40kg in 2 weeks rather than general weight loss tips) Those mentioned in brackets are simply examples and need not be taken literally.

If your blog belongs to 2nd category – you will keep getting traffic based on your competencies and SEO. This case focusses on content quality rather than plain SEO and you might need to back your content with logic.

In either case, it is hardwork in content and marketing which will actually pay and in the beginning you might be making $1 – 3 a month and in order to make a living this way, you need patience. Sorry if you feel bad but this is the bitter truth you need to know.

Yes @scheng1 – my post may not be cheeky (as you call it). In fact, I am a fun loving guy and prefer to write serious things in a funny manner. I don’t wish to write serious things in serious manner to bore users. I dont wish to write funny (and to be ignored things) either. I want a balance to be maintained. Let us see whether this is possible.

@ruby3881 – there is no exception to a well managed research EVER.

However in some cases, opinions make sense and work. There are certain problems which are solved by unbelievable solutions resulting from neither science NOR logic but by mere coincidence. For example, in some Asian countries, it is believed that all backaches disappear if you are kicked by someone who is reverse born. You will wonder why – what – how ? But the solution worked in 99% cases and this is what villagers prefer over traditional medicines, particularly in South Asia.

Apparently it seems that not everything can be explained by plain and simple logic.

As far as SEO is concerned, it is a complex topic. It values originality, length, appropriateness, keyword density and out of box approach among other considerations. I am NOT SEO Expert – If you are, you can guide how to go about it.

If I were to have 1 million Dollars, I would prefer to invest them rather them throwing and spending.

I prefer to discuss where to wisely put your million Dollars so that they are safe (if they do not grow). No, I am not supposed to discuss stock trading / commodity exchange OR throwing ideally in betting schemes. I suggest starting a profitable venture based on a really innovative idea. We can use those million Dollars as initial seed capital and star working on it in a guided manner.

I dont encourage spending those moneys on daily OR weekly basis as that might be unthought option.

I dont think Einstein was linked with he bulb. The founder of electric bulb was Sir Thomas Alva Edison NOT Einstein anyways. Yes, Edison failed many times before success. How many times? Some say 100 – some 1000 while some 10000.

It seems obvious that this is unnecessarily exaggerated. Some exaggeration is done by Edison’s followers and myths were widespread (Myths are too common. One such another myth: Hitler was a vegetarian). This is often told many times NOT to praise Edison as such but to enforce attempts.

It is surprising that people are actually writing 2200 word long posts.

I agree with @support that personal stories are not liked much by search engine. In fact those articles are very short niche which may OR may not work. Writing how to and what you know helps everyone in the long run.

I agree with @grecy095 to think of SEO while writing. However, more than 75% of the writers dont know about SEO. Yes, I too belong to that 75%. We need someone who can explain SEO in layman’s terms. We however, don’t prefer to quit writing until that happens. We had always perceived writing as a passion rather than a business idea. Nevertheless, we cannot ignore SEO which is always required to get traffic. But, SEO alone is not sufficient. I know people who are just  madly writing to satisfy SEO and this is negatively impacting content quality. We need a proper balance.

I dont know why are @dawnwriter and @swalia and others actually pointing fingers at site owner. He needs this website more than us. I have seen many online earning sites but none as supportive as blogjob. Whatever doubts I had were answered by him from time to time. It was a high paying website coming from a cooperative champ.

Blogjob’s temporary closure may seem to be full stop for many but he needs us right now. I know the measure he took could be reducing traffic considerably. But, he had nothing more to do as he mentioned. He may not be replying because he might have some other priorities and there is no point pasting same thing again. I have complete hope that he will definitely update as soon as he sees a positive ray of hope. Till then we should support him.

I dont recommend taking our blogs back because it helped us make money in the past (50 points per blog post). Please note: Blogjob NOT getting traffic automatically implies that our blog won’t get traffic either. If we promote just our blogs – we are getting traffic which pays us (Remember, blogjob allows us to advertise our own content). This way, we can do our bit (no matter how small it is but it is significant) to help blogjob get some traffic. This is the purpose why the website made some unique payment schemes unseen anywhere else.

Think that you are getting search engine revenue for your own blog and you will automatically help blogjob recover from the problem. Merely blaming Sheridan won’t help.

Blogjob was a legendary name – a rare gem. It was probably the only website which had people making 100 Dollars in 40 Days (OR lesser). I know people who increased their limit to 400 Points a day and cashed out in a month. What happened was a sad story but not unexpected.

If you looked at their model – you will note that they paid for actually non revenue generating acts like “likes and favoriting” as well. Not only this but they allowed to have your own advertizing on blogs as well.

But, if you look closely at the site’s performance, you would have noticed the administrator’s (Sheridan’s) worries too. In order to have any venture running, you need more revenue and lesser costs (if you don’t want to beg for donations). Websites make money through ads. Not all ads pay equally. So, blogjob had to regularly change ad servers. This process was called “Scheduled maintenance”.

When that happened

1. For us, they were upgrading servers

2.For the site owners, they were making the website better

3. For the search engine – it is a DOWNTIME.

The 3rd one is a serious problem. Unfortunately, that happened many times which resulted in temporarily suspension. Blogjob had to reduce daily limits in the beginning and temporary suspension in the end.

Finally today I reached $1+ figure. It was a slow journey though but I hope to recover soon. The good thing is that this website has a dynamic way to gain Dollars. You get money depending on quality and quantity depending on the condition.

My journey has been slow but soon I prefer to make it fast. I checked My History and am able to see decent payments for post links and referral payments. In future, I plan to comeback most often.
