Sometime in the 70’s, I was a regular subscriber of the Reader’s Digest. I like reading every article published in the said Digest. They’re written in a simple grammar. They could be easily understood. What I loved in the page section of RD is “Things to Ponder”. It provoked my thinking, my wisdom to analyze the situation presented. And what I…[Read more]

@grecy095/
ah yes, those magazines are great to read too.
However, I don’t buy them.
I would be broke if I were to buy each of them every month!
However, it is hard to get 2nd hand magazines now.
I saw there is a bookshop that sells left over magazines which are a few months back.
However, the front cover of the magazines were torn off…[Read more]

I totally agree with you. I have really just started listening to my CDs from the 90s and early 2000s. Anymore the music just is a bunch of words with no meaning or like you said about hooking up, drugs, or violence. It’s sad because this is the music that kids are growing up to now and they wouldn’t know good music when they hear it. Because…[Read more]

I agree. Sometimes, I think I could have come up with a better song than one that has about 4 lines and they are just repeated over and over again. I think they are just trying to see who can out do each other with redundant and senseless lyrics. I want something that means something and something that is going to evoke an emotion in me.

My father always watched 60 minutes when he was alive. I did not realize that Morley Safer was still on there. That is incredible. He definitely seen a lot and reported many historical events in his time. It is a great loss and my thoughts go out to his family at this time.

Morley Safer died today at the age of 84, days after announcing his retirement. He was a t.v. journalist for CBS and was later a member of the news show “60 Minutes.” He was on “60 Minutes” for 46 years!!
He must have witnessed a lot of historical events in his life and probably reported on a lot of them as well. May he R.I.P.

@icybc I have always been wanting a big book shelves that are up to the ceiling when I was younger, but now as I prefer less stuffs and simple life, I do not dream for this anymore. Yes, I think smaller space and lesser stuffs make things more manageable, and easier to clean as well. Moreover, I think simpler life is better for us and the children…[Read more]

I love both to read. Hardbound or softbound books have the same content with their equivalent in ebooks format. The latter could be accessed anywhere as long as there is an Internet connection. It is handier or convenient as compared to the physical books. And you don’t have to buy them. Unless they are not available for free you have to pay them.

honestly, I have never read stories online like ebooks which are popular.
I do not know where to find any children stories to read.
I prefer to read hard paper back story books, children fable stories by Enid blyton’s ,Mark Twain, these are good books to occupy my time.
In addition, I also read stories to my boy during bed time.
He loves fable…[Read more]

Music has played a memorable role in my life especially in finding my partner in life. I found her in the school campus where I was studying. She was a transferee from the private high school to our school. It was the music that we became fast friend and everything was a history, what I mean, a love story. The unforgettable one!
