I am fortunate that I’ve never had to worry about meddling in-laws. My in-laws were my best friends, aside from my husband. For me, there is no choice to be made. My parents raised me, but I’ve long made my own choices. They generally respect them, but if they didn’t I would choose my husband.

I’ve never personally dated a man that much older, but at one time I knew several that I would have been happy to date under the right circumstances. I think 15 years is probably about as big of a gap as I’d want, though.

Thoughts on dating an older man as a young woman? Age difference of say 15+ years.

I do not like the idea of nursing homes and would not like to live in one. I would not let my mother go to one when she was sick. I took care of her and I would do it again if I had to. She wanted to go to one because she did not want to be a burden to me and my sister but I told her she was not going. I know that some people do not have family to…[Read more]

I think as a parent it is just hard to let go of your children and no one that they choose to be with are ever going to live up to their expectations. I think that they still want to protect their children from being hurt by the other person. It is just natural I think for parents especially mothers to behave this way.

I think everybody has his own path, and his own experiences, that’s why it’s difficult to tell a number. My answer is: whenever a person is ready to have children, that’s the best timing. Well, with age it becomes more difficult for women, but that’s how it is.

That is a real problem for many couples. I believe the husband/wife is more important if he/she is the right person for you. Your family should at least respect your choice, even if they don’t like it.

I try to accept people the way they are, even though it is not always working well. If a person is pushy, that bothers me for sure, but only for a short time, and then I forget and ignore what happened.
Of course, you can try to influence people for the better, but not everybody will be willing to listen to your advice. Most people just don’t…[Read more]

It is so nice to have grandchildren at home with their grandparents as the grandparents are there all by themselves and for sure they really misses them. It is good that you have a baby in the house or kids because the house become alive with sounds of laughing, giggling and some movements. It is exciting.

That is good, there is someone that will able to take care of her. For sure they cannot move anymore and need someone to accompany her to do a lot of things at home. I am glad she reached that age and I hope she reach it far too so that you can spend time with her more.
@Shavkat. I am from India and this culture has just about made its presence here.
Here they are known as home nurses who look after the sick and those who need assistance like your Granny.

People often get used to you doing that because they know you will not say NO to them, that is why we should learn to say NO to some circumstance. I should be telling that to myself too because I am a person who are doing a lot of things/favor to other people, friend and strangers. There is always a time that you can accept task because you have…[Read more]

@peachpurple & @shaloo walia Sorry to say that India the only country in the world that allows Muslims their own “Personal Law” which is one of the reasons the child marriages take place in India. I dn’t understand why and how it is allowed to marry a child at a tender age when the children don’t even know the meaning of marriage. The trend is …[Read more]
