@bestwriter I may jump in later on but for now, I am trying to catch up on some other work. It was certainly fun the last time I joined you in this challenge – and it did earn me a few pennies then too!

@bestwriter Thanks for your efforts at being a peacemaker. I’m stepping out of this conversation now because I have nothing positive to add anymore. I’m tired of people getting their backs up this week. It’s getting really ugly, all over the internet. |

You’re still making this about the merits of personal writing when in fact, the original comment was simply a redirect because another member assumed you were judging his writing.I’m now sorry I took the initiative to speak out in your defence. It’s caused more grief for us both and obviously hasn’t healed anything. I’m now sorry I took the initiative to speak out in your defence. @bestwriter Sorry for misunderstanding! That would explain why I couldn’t find a post that described the challenge. You should write one, though. It will earn you a bit of extra money and encourage others to attempt the challenge. |

@peachpurple No, I previously stated that my average post payment was 27 cents. That has actually gone up to 28 cents over the course of June. Looking back at the few 500-word posts I’ve published here, I think all of them earned 22 cents. I get better results once I hit about 700 words. As I said, it is possible to earn a fair bit more than 22 cents with one post here. I have a good number of posts now that have paid more than 30 cents. And for me, the effort to write a few hundred words more is small compared to the effort of composing titles, creating graphics, and later promoting several extra posts. You know I don’t think it’s a good idea to get too specific when we discuss earnings, but let me just say that when I put the effort into writing a post, I’m not disappointed by the pay. When I cut corners, I’m not surprised that a longer post earns a bit less than others of that length. |
|
@peachpurple Oh shoot! I forgot to say that it is possible to earn better. I checked my records for June, and my lowest amounts are 22 cents. Those are mostly posts around 500-700 words, though some shorter posts earned more and some longer posts earned a bit less.
@swalia I was concerned for a bit, but I did a little math. I am seeing an average of about 28 cents per post, but almost half of my posts are paying better than that. Don’t give up! Shorter and longer posts can all earn more if we use SEO. |
|
@peachpurple You’ll have to let me know how you like Jaaxy. I’ve only recently heard of this tool, but it seems a lot of the ladies on one of my FB are big into it. I thought it was a paid service, so I figured I’d wait to look into that one…. |

@bestwriter Awesome, Grace! You should start a new thread in the writing challenges forum, and link your post so more people will know about it 😀 |

@markyg I don’t think it’s ever too late to reply. Sometimes we don’t see comments when they post, but I think most people understand this. Also, if a person has left a thoughtful reply it shouldn’t be too hard to come up with a brief response. It depends greatly on the quality of the comment, and so all of us should endeavour to leave comments that suggest the reply 🙂 |

@bestwriter I did the PP challenge in a month, finishing with a total of 36 posts. There are roughly the same number of categories here too, some of which are very specialized technical areas. I doubt anyone could complete all the categories in a week, let alone a day. If we’re talking about 3-5 categories, I would say you’ll get better results if users can complete the challenge over as many days. |

Good grief, JoDee! Why be offended? You have more than once said you prefer to write personal content and don’t care to write SEO. Last I heard, you were even contemplating whether you wanted to continue writing here because you didn’t feel your posts were appreciated here. It’s come up a few times lately, so I figured that was why you were mentioning it here. I just didn’t think it was fair for Rajaraman to assume you meant his posts. Very touchy, on his part! Did everybody take a sensitive pill this week, or what? Everywhere I go online, people are putting words in each others’ mouths, getting upset over things that normally would be overlooked, and downright picking fights with one another. It’s like getting stuck in some weird, virtual edition of an old Star Trek episode! I’m going to be on the lookout for spore-shooting flowers and strange parasites…. |
|
@raaman I think JoDee was talking about her own writing, not yours. |
|
@grecy095 I will do the same. I’m easy to find on FB – either on my author page RubyWriter or by just searching for Kyla Matton Osborne. If someone wants me to add them, they can message to say who they are on LB 😀 |
|
You’ve been sick recently, @grecy095. It could just be residual effects from your fever. |

@bestwriter Your comment challenge was a great idea! You know, maybe something like that would help get people interacting more on the posts here. But yes, it was @dawnwriter who proposed the category challenge on PP 🙂 |
