Let it be known that God loves us dearly. So in turn we should love him too by obeying him. Jesus Christ showed us how to love and through his sacrificial life he showed us how to obey God. If we live for ourselves we are not committed to God. Obeying God means obeying his commands. When we love God we have no choice but to obey him as well.

When we obey God we are sure to receive God’s blessings. Obedience means faithfulness to God’s words. He promises us good things, the only thing we need to do is wait.

When God blesses us it is not just for one day or one moment; it is continuous. Only we can stop the flow of God’s blessings. We should aim to please God. We should trust in him. Faith in him brings joy and secures our place with him for the future. Each day we should look forward to life in the new Jerusalem even as we reap his blessings now.

Guns and the debate of their ownership is a hot topic in the U.S. and for good reason. We have extremely lax laws in some states and very tight regulations in others. I do in fact own a firearm and it is in fact for self defense. I live in an area where wild animals come onto my property and cannot always just be spooked off or waited out. Thankfully I have never had to turn my rifle on a person, and I hope that trend continues. Legal or illegal, regulations need to be uniform across all state lines.
