Yes a good move indeed, but I think more action ought to be taken towards a more sustainable future on this planet earth.

I think the best way is to eat natural, fresh foods like fresh vegetables and fruits. We ought to take care of food combinations like not eating milk with fish, or meat.
Avoid curds with pickles.
Do not eat too much refined flour products like cake, pastries, samosas(Indian fried stuff).
Consumption of Pizzas, burgers ought to be within limits.
Also, we ought to try seasonal fruits and vegetables more and have less of refrigerated ones.

@ichchhemrityu I am now relishing this forum very much. So much that I can’t resist coming back here, discussing, commenting and may be starting newer discussions in near future! 🙂
Yes, adaptations can be great if we want viwers in say English to see a great work written in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, or even Chinese, Japanese, Italian, German, French or Arabic etc.
Complex works can be simplified so more viewers can come to know about the work.
However, I do not like distortions and heavy distortions, as I came to know about distortions of a few works of Alistair MacLean( 🙂 Yes I am a fan of his books too – do you recollect “Guns of Navarone” , “Where Eagles Dare” etc)
Another option could be a TV series, though many of recent Hindi TV series on historical books or stories drag and distort them too much and try to make them look like a Saas-Bahu type daily sop, which I entirely dislike!

@tarasquirrel yes books can have more details. Movies have to cut out some part or shorten it. Exceptions can be in shorter length stories. In cases like “3 idiots” – an adaptation of “Five Point someone” by Chetan Bhagat, the movie was almost as good as the novel, and in some places better.
But of course, it also depends on the script writer, director and the actors.

@lovern Looks like you people need to exert pressure on your authorities to lay stronger roads, may be through social media, as well as through your elected representatives.
It is a fact that in many developing nations, including India there is big corruption in infrastructure projects and sub-standard material is often used to make more profits.

@ichchhemrityu
I also have read “Surely you are joking Mr Feynman” way back in 1995, the year I moved to college from school.
I too have read some serious and non-fiction books, but I have more of a liking for fiction and thrillers.
By the way I am also involved in writing a story series on LB.

Yes @ichchhemrityu
I would have talked about a lot more books but limited to some recent and one older one.
Yes, I have read Dan Brown works too.
First one was “Da Vinci Code” which I read in 2005. Dan Brown too is a good story-teller, but his works tend to be a bit longer and a bit boring in some places.
In fact, my parents tried to read this novel, but they did not like it as it was a little complex for them(though my father liked reading “The Sky is falling by Sidney Sheldon”).
Then, I read “The Lost Symbol” in 2009-10.
It is also a gripping work, but in end 30-40 pages, it looked like a long and boring monologue.
It is however a little complex for those who are not high on patience but still worth reading.
The last of Dan Brown that I read was “Digital Fortress” – this is more of a movie oriented, fast paced thriller but has some good chase sequences and shocking revealations in between.

Yes @ichchhemrityu but buying online has its risks, and its better to go the offline mode for shoes.

“I remember saving my money just to buy his books (paper back edition)………..”
You are such an ardent fan of Robert Ludlum. Great to know this! I was not aware he is no longer alive.
He is great in conceptualization, scene enactment and adding sudden twists and turns. At times, I have fallen almost asleep but read pages upon pages of his work.
I will check his other works too this year and in coming years.

I would recommend Home routine over Gym routine.
It saves your time going to Gymnasium as well as easier on pockets.

@swalia some good tips- I was not aware of such point system. I write longer for my story series or other stories I have written, while some of my posts just nearly touch the 300 word limit mark.
