Frankly speaking, while my school time Hindi was good, and I did use to read a lot of Hindi magazines like Sarita, Saptahik Hindustan etc, the only worthwhile Hindi books of literature I recall were by my aunt and uncle who were into Hindi teaching in colleges. One was ‘Sita Ka Kanyadaan’ about current issues affecting common people in India.
Looks like a well written book.

peachpurple replied to the topic Up to How Much Can We Earn From 1 Blog Post? in the forum About LiteracyBase 7 years, 8 months ago
If you are expecting to earn 0.44 cents for 1000 words, well, I am sad to tell you that, you won’t because I had tried a few times already.
It is best to break the 1000 words posts into 2 posts, so that you can earn 44 cents instead.
I do that often, much better in earning.

Didn’t the public made any complaints to the authority?
Should put pressure for them to settle the rain problems. Otherwise people will suffer
PEEUSH TRIKHA replied to the topic Books/Novels vs Their Movie Adaptations? in the forum Book Readers Club 7 years, 8 months ago
@ichchhemrityu Yes some have been distorted very much. There is currently a show “ChandraNandini” on Star Plus, which looks like it has distorted the historical events during Chandragupta Maurya’s time a bit too much. Programs like “Bharat Ek Khoj” were better and even “The Sword of Tipu Sultan”.

@tarasquirrel I have not read this collection, but perhaps will in future. As of now, I have resumed reading books and novels after a long time, and I get less time to do so.
PEEUSH TRIKHA started the topic Works by Alistair MacLean? in the forum Book Readers Club 7 years, 8 months ago
I first came to know about Alistair MacLean through one of my friends who was reading his novel “The Guns of Navarone” which was also made into a movie. Later another friend of mine who was his fan introduced me to some of the movies based on Alistair’s works- “Guns of Navarone” ,”Force 10 from Navarone” and “Ice Station Zebra”. I read his books…[Read more]
PEEUSH TRIKHA replied to the topic So what foods are we to eat? in the forum Food & Drink 7 years, 8 months ago
Yes @rebelwoman06 we need to eat things in moderation, even good foods like Veggies, fruits and Milks. For e.g- If we eat 10 oranges in a day, it is also something that can cause us some kind of a trouble!
I think the best way is to eat natural, fresh foods like fresh vegetables and fruits. We ought to take care of food combinations like not eating milk with fish, or meat. Avoid curds with pickles. Do not eat too much refined flour products like cake, pastries, samosas(Indian fried stuff). Consumption of Pizzas, burgers ought to be within…[Read more]

PEEUSH TRIKHA started the topic The last "sinful" sweet desset/snack that you consumed recently? in the forum Food & Drink 7 years, 8 months ago
Well, now a days, most of us try to take care of our health, diet and activity. Yet there are times, when our brain tells us not to eat something that is good in taste but not so good for our health, yet we do indulge in eating it. I recently had a “Tiramisu” – an Italian sweet dessert(I read it has coffee, cream, bread and cakes as ingredients),…[Read more]
PEEUSH TRIKHA replied to the topic Love Discussions About books: Invite your friends in the forum Book Readers Club 7 years, 8 months ago
Well, I do have links and I share on twitter.
@tarasquirrel yes books can have more details. Movies have to cut out some part or shorten it. Exceptions can be in shorter length stories. In cases like “3 idiots” – an adaptation of “Five Point someone” by Chetan Bhagat, the movie was almost as good as the novel, and in some places better. But of course, it also depends on the script writer,…[Read more]

@lovern Looks like you people need to exert pressure on your authorities to lay stronger roads, may be through social media, as well as through your elected representatives. It is a fact that in many developing nations, including India there is big corruption in infrastructure projects and sub-standard material is often used to make more profits.
@IchchheMrityu I also have read “Surely you are joking Mr Feynman” way back in 1995, the year I moved to college from school. I too have read some serious and non-fiction books, but I have more of a liking for fiction and thrillers. By the way I am also involved in writing a story series on LB.
