Nomus wrote a new post, Homeopathy – the growing popularity of alternative treatment 7 years, 9 months ago

Often labelled as the genre of medicine which is slow and inefficient, HOMEOPATHY is slowly and steadily gaining importance among global citizens. Today, more than ever before, there is a dire need for homeopathy […]

    • I believe that homeapathy has always been there for us. But with advances in what is considered “modern medical science”, people moved away from what some old folks used to call “bush medicine” or “herbal medicine” or what we call nowadays “natural remedies”.

Here is a contrast and compare. Because of the U.S. trade restrictions placed on Cuba, access to prescription drugs was extremely limited and many of their medical treatments use homeopathy. (That’s what I heard.) Yet Cuba has a fantastic healthcare system. (That’s what I heard also and it must be true because people go there to get medical help and some people go there to study and get a medical degree.) So homeopathy clearly must have a value add?

    • Homeopathy is really becoming popular, with so many people opting to use the natural methods for certain ailments. I am one of them because I fear taking so much synthetic drugs.

The Mistake is thinking that people, outsiders, brought down Bubblews.  Bubblews went down because it was a scam.  It was taken down by law.

Now that technology is going more routinized. It’s going to be easier for many people to dispel the myth. As time goes ahead you can find that some of the time myth have it’s own way to make people believe in […]

    • I still believe there is something out there in Loch Ness, but then I think I have some Scottish ancestry! As for dogs, we once had one that preferred a red ball and the cat I have now likes grey and blue toy mice over white.

    • I have always heard about lightning not striking in the same place twice but i am pretty sure it is possible. Weather is not controllable so you can’t tell if this could happen or not. This is probably believed to happen because when there is a strom it tends to move, which means the clounds move and lightening shouldn’t strike in the same place twice. It could happen thought. There is a very little chance this could happen but still, it could happen.

    • So it looks like you have presented very convincing proof tha technology has absolutely no control over the human mind. 🙂

    • Very informative, especially on animals who can only see white and black; so dogs and cats can really see different colors?

    • Nice piece of researched information. It does take some time for these to register in the mind of the ordinary man who has been fed with the information which used to exist before and be believed by all. Many of the things which were earlier thought of impossible are now being proved otherwise.

Science itself has had many theories before which themselves were proved subsequently to be wrong. As more new details keep emerging many thins will be cleared and we can have a clear perspective of how we see things. As time goes on many more things which are called scientifically proved today will also be debunked.

    • some myths are not wrong like the camel hump they may not have water but they do help the camel to survive in a different way. and some myths are good

    • This are technologies with thier researches still going on, i guess i misunderstood the headline.
I thought quantum computing is already in existence?? didn’t know the research is still on.
This is gonna be funny but i know a guy who claims that humans came down from mars, mars was a very civilized country but a was wiped out by a giant meteor – I did not say it oo, just quoted someone!

    • Nothing is impossible with science. But I do not like the idea of floating cities. It will destroy the ecosystem in our seas/oceans. Where will they throw/dispose their wastes?

    • Science affects us all, every day of the year, from the moment we wake up, all day long, and through the night.

Your digital alarm clock, the weather report, the asphalt you drive on, the bus you ride in, your decision to eat a baked potato instead of fries, your cell phone, the antibiotics that treat your sore throat, the clean water that comes from your faucet, and the light that you turn off at the end of the day have all been brought to you courtesy of science.

The modern world would not be modern at all without the understandings and technology enabled by science.

kaylar wrote a new post, Understanding Branding on the Tongue 7 years, 9 months ago

In nations in which the population is virtually homogeneous, the way to delineate the classes is often done by what is called ‘Branding on the Tongue’.   This term refers to how one speaks.  The accent, the w […]

    • Language is for communication, not miscommunication and misunderstanding. Whatever the rules or conventions or grammatical structure, etc. may be … if you’re not communicating then you’re simply not speaking the same language. If people want to live together and get along, they better figure out how to talk to each other.

For the record, why would any judge let the lawyer get away with asking the witness a stupid question like that? Why would any jury not look at the lawyer with a wary eye? Why wouldn’t the opposing attorney object? Simple. The case wasn’t about justice.

      • Having been in Court. The Prosecutor had sat, the Defence rose, and quietly asked the questions and got the answers. Why interfere? If you were giving evidence; “I was on Literacy Base at six o’clock’ and I stood up, “Is that post meridian or anti- meridian?” and you said ‘anti’ did I trick you when you confused anti with post? Nope.

There was a case, a young man was charged with an offense. His alibia; “I went to the midnight show at the Palace…” the offence happened shortly before one… the very witness who put him on the scene had testified he was at the midnight show.

I knew, the Court didn’t, that a ‘midnight show’ starts at 11:30

        • You said the accused was exonerated. Exonerated? That means nothing ever happened. Innocence proven all because a person couldn’t speak English properly? Suppose the poor woman couldn’t speak English. She spoke another language. Or worse, she was mute and couldn’t scream for help. I get very touchy about injustice. But especially about rape cases because almost always there usually are only 2 eye witnesses: the rapist and the victim.

          • The Rapist was found Not Guilty by the Jury. The address of Defence counsel focused on ‘consent’. Embrace, Stroll, Make Love.

This is the cost of not speaking English. At no time did the complainant seem unfamiliar with the terms, changed them, asked them to be repeated. Her evidence is as I gave it. This is just one example… possibly the most obvious.

            • In America, if you can raise a reasonable doubt in a criminal case then the accused can be set free. I understand the Defense has to do their job. Their job is to defend the accused. The Defense did their job. But there were other responsible parties involved who had a job to do too! Seems like not everybody wasn’t doing their job. It happens a lot. Not just in your country.

    • People will use your weakness against you. In Ja. it has led to a lot of out sourcing. A lot of jobs have been filled by ex-pats because Jamaicans can’t speak English. I’m going to blog about it
