While growing up, my parents had a garden and we would grow just about everything. We had yellow squash, cucumbers, peas, green beans, onions, green onions, potatoes, corn, dill, carrots, radishes, green peppers, and tomatoes. I know we had more but I cannot remember everything. My parents also canned and froze many things. My mom would can tomatoes, tomato juice, veggie soup, carrots, and green beans. She also canned peaches, applesauce, pickles, and pickled beets. She would freeze peas and chopped green peppers. It was hard work and would take all day over the weekends, but we would have shelves of canned goods in the basement. I love food from the garden. I do have space to do this, but I just do not have the time or the energy to garden. I miss some of my mother’s canned foods. There is nothing that compares to the applesauce and the peaches. I loved the pickles she made too.

I will sometimes make food from scratch, but it just depends on what it is and how much time it takes me to do.

@Maggie  I am sorry that you do not have this option where you live. I am not sure how I would be able to afford to go grocery shopping without being able to save some money. Hopefully, the merchandise where you live is not as expensive as it can be here. It would be nice if they had options like this in all countries. It would be very helpful for people everywhere.

I have not totaled the number of hours that I spend here. I come to the site periodically throughout the day to interact on the forums and to learn the ins and outs of the site. I am still getting used to it and I am learning a lot from my friends here. I probably spend about 2-4 hours here on any given day. I am trying to see how much I can make in a month and all the possibilities that go along with working on here. I like it so far so I may end up putting in more time on here between all the other sites that I work on over the course of the day.

@JoDee  I figured it would be a good topic. I do use the Walmart Savings Catcher as well, although I do not shop there that often. I do not like going there because they never have enough lanes open and you end up waiting in line for a long time. I would rather just run in and run out of a store since I really hate grocery shopping. It can be exhausting trying to not spend so much money or having to count the pennies you are spending. Not to mention, putting the groceries away. I have to talk myself into going grocery shopping.

I also use the Receipt Hog app to scan all my receipts to earn points. I have cashed out once with this app. It takes a long time for the points to add up but it only takes a couple of seconds to take a picture of the receipt so I do not mind.

@LeeKa  Tumblr sounds like a great site. I have started to like microblogging because I do not have to have a long drawn out post. I am going to have to check this out. I do not have Microsoft Word on my laptop, so it only takes a couple of extra seconds to copy and paste it the way I have done.

@peachpurple  Some of the sites you use, I have not heard of before. I may have to check out some of them. Of course, it does not help to spread the word on them if I do not have any friends on there. I am just now trying to get my following on Twitter up and most of my followers are people I have met at Blogjob but they are nice to enough to retweet my posts.

@shaloo  I agree pugs are so adorable and my daughter is obsessed with them. I have heard that they are great family dogs and good with children. I do not usually like smaller dogs, but I would make an exception for a pug. I have not had good experiences with pomeranians. A friend of mine had one and every time I was at her house, the dog would attack me. I called it the devil dog because it was so evil to me. I guess everyone has their favorite dogs. I am glad that you were able to have that dog for so long.

@suny I am sorry, I am not sure if it is just a US thing or not. I use Coupons.com for most of the coupons that I print. Sometimes, you can contact the company of certain products and they will send you coupons or in case of not being a resident of the US a voucher. Not sure about international companies though. Most of the survey sites that I belong to use PayPal as a payment method, so I always choose that.

@Grecy  That looks really good. I would love to be able to try that. I love pork and vegetables. I have not eaten anything like that before though. I love to get recipes from Pinterest because I can find so many different ones on there. Sometimes, you can just google recipes by the ingredients and come up with recipes that you can make with them. I do not plan meals that good for the whole week, but I will for the weekends. Sometimes, it is just easier to heat something up in the microwave after the kids get home from school.

I completely agree. I try to save every penny that I can and I would do this even when I have a job. I think the cost of groceries is outrageous, so I try to get the price down with coupons and cash back apps on my phone. I also use my grocery store member card and I am able to download coupons onto it. They also send me coupons every couple of months on many products that I use all the time. I think this is a good way of getting people to shop at that store versus other grocery stores.

@slayer08  I know exactly how you feel. I sit back and I look at everyone else and see people who know what they want out of life. Most of them seem to have their lives in order and are living the way someone of 30 or 40 should be living. While I feel like I cannot even figure out what I want to do. I am just adrift in this vast ocean and no shore in sight. It makes me feel like a failure because I do not have my life together and right now I do not even have a job.

@Grecy  I can understand that this whole issue with blogjob has gotten you all messed up with blogging. I felt the same way, but tonight I submitted my first blog post and think maybe I can get going here now. It is different but we have a lot of the same people here to guide us and encourage us to make the most of it. I know that you can climb up and rise to the occasion. We all have faith in you.

I have heard that people do real well on Etsy, but I am not familiar with this site. There are so many different avenues to explore with selling online that it can be overwhelming. I stick to eBay although I do not sell handmade items, but I trust eBay and have been selling on it for years.

On Pinterest, I have been pinning a lot of pins about quilling. I think it absolutely beautiful, but I do not think that I would have the patience for it. It looks very time consuming, so I would not be able to do it at this time. Maybe I will save all the things I want to learn when I become rich or I retire. LOL

I recycle plastic, glass, paper, and cardboard. Pretty much anything that has the recycle triangle on it. Some of the jars I will reuse for storage or other things. I like to use the parmesan cheese containers for the kids’ crayons or markers. They are good for small toys as well or any other small items that you may have. My daughter loves to use cardboard for painting or making different things with. She created her phones, tablet, and laptop out of cardboard. She made some things for her Barbie dolls too. I have used them to do painting projects with for gifts. It is nice and sturdy and can be painted very well. Most times you would not know that it is cardboard.

In my state, carbonated drink cans and bottles can be taken back to the store to get the deposit back on them, so that is nice. There are people in my area that go around on trash days and the day before to find things to scrap and make money. It is not unusual to see trucks loaded to capacity with junk from around the neighborhoods.  I find it amazing the amount of trash recycling cuts back on. Sometimes, I would only have one bag of trash because nearly everything is recyclable nowadays.

I have not signed up with tumblr yet but I may do that one day. I shared your latest blog post @LeeKa on Pinterest, Google+, and Twitter so hopefully you will get some visits to it. I just submitted my first post and I am curious to see what I get out of it. I think maybe that has broken the ice for me here and I will be able to do more. I cannot wait to see how it does when I share it. I would love to get some referrals to here.

I wrote it in WordPad and  then pasted it in the Word Counter site to see if it was long enough. What a great site. Then I just pasted it into the blog post here. More work than at the other place but that is okay for now. I wish we could choose our layout and everything, I think that makes it more fun.

I think Dalmatians are beautiful dogs. My sister used to have Keeshonds and they were very nice dogs too. The only other breeds that I have been around are Beagles and I love them. They are good dogs, too. I wished you could have uploaded a picture. I have not figured that out except on blog posts. Not sure if you can do it in the forums.

Amazon is a good place to order from, although I do not order from there very much. I would much rather have a gift card that is to a store in my area. Most of the sites or apps that I use have a variety of gift cards to choose from. I have found things on there that I can not get anywhere else though, so that makes it nice. It is too bad that the shipping would be too much money for you to take advantage of such offers. Most of the time if I need something off of the internet I will check eBay first since I am a seller on there. I like being able to use PayPal to pay for the items that I want. Makes it more convenient.
