There is no set pattern. But as and when I feel I do not need certain items. They will be set aside and if they are not touched say for a year then out they go.

Once every week a layer of soil needs to be placed over the garbage and that takes care of maggots and stuff.  Ants could be taken care of with a mild insecticide.  Your waste food is a great contributor for compost.

@Shavkt I too feel we should wait as even the best of sites take a few days before they start paying.

@Ruby3881  It goes without saying that if a site pays on the dot it augurs well for the site. I only wanted to know whether our goading made them pay us or they paid when the time was right for them.

@shaloo walia  There is no denying if a site goes by the rules it is good for them. But don’t you think they will pay when the time is right for them regardless of how many of us show concern? I just wanted to know the next time the payout time comes if they will pay on their own rather than us reminding them to.

@suny  That’s the point. So let us not assume they paid us because we complained!!

@Thinker  I am not sure if our raising the issue got them to pay us or whether it is really necessary at all for the community to show concern as from my experience sites pay when the time is right for them. So next time may be we could just see how long they will delay. Just a thought.

We sort out that which can be handed over to garbage collectors which is mostly solid waste, such as plastic bags.  The wet garbage mainly kitchen waste, weeds and twigs are dumped in compost pits.

I have also used solid waste such as broken glass, stones, crockery, plastic bags as filler for foundations for garden artifacts.

@peachpurple  I have no idea how they pay. But let’s wait and see if they will pay without our reminding them to.
