Caleb wrote a new post, It’s time to be joyful. 7 years, 9 months ago

    ” …The  joy of the Lord is your strength(Neh 8:10) ”

What is joy?  Some would say being happy.  Happiness can be associated with joy but it goes beyond that. Joy denotes festive gaiety. Sometimes, lau […]

    • Indeed, what we feel when We have a deep relationship withGod is joy, not happiness. Joy is something we feel out of things that are not of material aspects. it comes from the nicefeeling we feel that we are safe and secure always when we have God in our lives.

    • Thanks for your input, Dina. Yes, Joy comes from within but we have to stir it up. Circumstances and situations can steal our joy and weaken our walk with Christ. When that happens, we can cry out to God like David and ask to restore the joy of our Salvation. (Ps 51:12) Joy is our strength and it, also, when properly used, changes our circumstances. Joy is a powerful weapon that the believer has and it drives Satan crazy. Use that joy at all times and watch the Lord move!

    • Hi Caleb? Nice post about God. There is always joy when God is always on our mind.It should be God to dominate every human mind. To God be the glory.

    • Well said, Cely. God’s presence can bring joy. Joy is so essential in life because life’s pressures can wear us out and make us sick. When you are joyful, your health improves and you can even change your atmosphere. Joy is deep within the believer heart and it is a fruit. Singing songs to the Lord or even having a hearty laugh can improve your health. In a medical study on cancer, doctors have had patients watch some slap-stick comedies. After hours of watching comedies, the patients had improved. Do not underestimate the power of joy. It is there for the believer to use. God bless.

    • Yes, it is. We all could use some positive energy these days, what with all the horrible events happening everywhere in this world.

    • Sometimes we have to be happy for no reason.

    • Jesus was our strength when we lost our children. He gave us that peace that passes understanding to get us through our grieving.

    • Amen and Amen and a good reminder for me. I have been pretty sick and you tend to lose touch with the spiritual side of you when you have a temperature and so on, but I can testify that the joy of the Lord really is my strength. Even in the midst of great trouble I let out a HUGE cry of praise whatever I am going through as that then puts the enemy to flight. So nice to find some Christians writing on the site. Keep on the good work.

    • What we feel is differing from one to one, from woman to man from kid to adult, yea its differing, but we all have joy in a different way and different meaning, some do find joy even in the small things, even if smile. some it doesnt really mean anything to them even if you worked to make them happy day and night. that is really people dont see what life is or about. that was really nice post and it brings great ideas so i wish all a happy day and joy life

    • There is no place for the words enmity, passion in His dictionary except the Love. He loves each and everybody without any bias. To say he is totally unbiased. He loves both good and bad equally. He loves bad people quickly to calm them down. He loves good people also but takes some time. We should not misunderstand his feelings. He is meant for LOVE only. It will be an unnecessary exercise to trigger many words about his greatness.

    • God willed that sons and daughters multiply around his only son and in him, be capable of receiving his Spirit and returning to him.
Every creature comes from God through his son in whom God contemplates his own riches, and on whom he pours his love.

I, personally, work from home and I know it has it’s moments. Sometimes, I have had “Cabin Fever”  from being stuck at home. In my job, I have to report to work, otherwise I am out of a job. On my side jobs concerning writing, I have gone through some “blues” (Discouragements) by setting  myself in front of my computer and getting busy. There have…[Read more]

Yes, I also do that. I reciplay also. One time, I cooked a dish that has some pickle relish and meat and other ingredients on it and it came out delicious. However, I wasn’t able to take note of how I did it nor remembered all the ingredients I put into it, so I wasn’t able to repeat it anymore.

But I understand that using other language than English is not allowed here most especially those foul, awful and vulgar words.

This is such a very interesting topic. And I also conform with you that relationship starts on the day that we were born. It begins with our family members at home. This relationship flourishes as we grow.

Dina wrote a new post, Do You Like To Eat Bitter Gourd ? 7 years, 9 months ago

Bitter gourd or bitter melon or balsam pear is a traditional edible pod and is an annual fruit cultivated in Asia, India, Africa and South America.
It is a tall growing plant that has yellow flowers, lobed leaves […]

    • I wasn’t aware that you could eat any sort of gourd. Sounds like it would be healthy to eat these, but I’m not sure if I’d be able to cook them good enough to get rid of the bitterness. lol Great informative post. 🙂

      • From where are you, my friend? So,I suppose you have bitter gourd in your country.

Actually, there are two kinds of bitter gourds. One type has smaller of those vein-like covering and those are said to be bitter. But those with vein-like structure as big as those in the picture, are not.

We can still lessen their bitterness by soaking them in a bowl with about one tablespoon of salt for 15 minutes the washing them again in plain water before we cook them.

Do you also cook a dish of this bitter gourd.

The recipe I wrote above has a finished product like that in the picture within the post.

    • When I was young, my mother would scold me every time she serves Bitter gourd because she can’t forced me to eat it even if she mixed it with more eggs.
I only start tasting it when I was in College and finally liked eating it when I had children of my own. Every time I cook bitter gourd, i add sliced sausages or hotdogs and more eggs so that my children will also try eating it. Nowadays, it is already my children who are requesting me to cook for them bitter gourd.
Another way of cooking it is with coconut milk. You can mix it with string beans and squash.

      • I think as we mature our taste buds matures too because we already eat those veggies we previously don’t like .

Actually when I was just a teener, I don’t eat any vegetable except potatoes. How much more bitter gourd.

But after giving birth, it’s as if a lot of hormones in me was awakened, because it’s the start of my loving vegetables specially bitter gourd.

Perhaps our daughter who is now 26 year old and a doctor already , will one day start liking bitter gourd. ha ha ha

    • You’re right. It’s a very beautiful scenic place, but as you pointed out, it could be very dangerous. I wouldn’t want to live there, but it definitely would be a place I’d like to put on my bucket list as a place to visit some day.

      • Yes, please put it in your bucket list of places to visit. You will be so proud posing for a picture with the Mayon Volcano in the background.

You can actually ride those all-terrain vehicles and go to the foot or a bit up the slope of Mayon Volcano. Actually, the PhilVocs or Philippine Vocanologist Authority always issue a restriction or alert level warning if ever they monitor some activity of the Mayon. So, tourists can only come near it when it;s not having activities.

The towns are usually out of its danger zone. Though when they have monitored it to seemingly erupt, they warn all the near towns’ people to evacuate for safety.

I always regret getting angry and shouting too. I cannot control myself actually when I am too angry in hurling hurting words. Much as I don’t want to get angry, some factors would trigger it.
