I think WordPress does not seem to have option for notification when some author in it is having comment. Usually it’s the WordPress admin that only gets the notification. Yes, it’s also nice to revive old posts especially if it’s essential or you have something to say about it. I sometimes also give comments to old posts as I tend to read list of discussions in a particular group that I am interested in.
