India is deemed as being in the top 10 wealthiest countries in the world yet the average individual in India is poor. This explains the issue of child labor in India. Child labor is not deemed as being completely illegal in India. the law in India permits children below the age of 14 to work, as long as their work is in non-hazardous environments. Many children who are forced into child labor are forced due to many family factors which include unemployment, poverty, and lack of parental education. Child labor needs to stop because it deprives children of their childhood, their potential to aspire and push to achieve and attain their goals as it usually interferes with a child’s education. the fact is, child laborers are usually abused, and their families are often trapped in a cycle of poverty.Intervention is needed by the government to help in stopping child labor.
