Thanks for asking these questions. I think it’s good for us to know all these, especially when we are into this blogging or writing world. 🙂 I have to confess that I haven’t spend much time reading the blog posts yet, and some of my posts do not get any comments or traffics too. I am thinking if there is a way for us to expose our blog posts, including others, so to help others easier to read those blogs. I usually check out the three latest blog posts displayed on the right. So, when there are many posts published at the same time, I might miss many of them. In the Blog page, there are only 5 latest blog posts shown on the right side. I am just thinking if it would be better, instead of showing the latest blog contents on the blog page, we show more latest blog posts in thumbnail format (such as the ones in the Home page, where most popular blog posts are shown), or we can have a selection to choose to show latest or most popular posts just like the ones in the Home page. I think this might help the members to expose more blog posts, and more posts got read by the visitors too. Because when I go to the Blog page, I might just read the few latest posts, then I might not click on the previous entries to read all of them, so the previous entries are all hidden by visitors. I am thinking this way allow most posts to be revealed, and the visitors get to choose which posts interest them too. @support Just a small suggestion. Thanks. 🙂

I think it’s really not easy to be a parent to a teenaged child. I always think it’s challenging. Frankly speaking, I totally did not remember, but my younger sister told me I always locked myself in the room when I was in high school. I shared the room with my younger sister, and as I was staying in the hostel during high school, she didn’t get to see me very often. So, she’d like to go into the room and talk or play with me, but I was always busy with my homework or studies in the room, and even locked the door sometimes, so she couldn’t go in. We didn’t have mobile phone or computer in those days, so I just studied or did homework in the room. I guess I just needed some quiet time and space for myself, and not to be disturbed by others. My mom could actually call me easily from outside, as there’s a window, so she did not worry for me locking myself in the room at all. Moreover, she understood I need to study, as I was quite stressed in the first year when I went to high school. Of course, I do not know what your daughter is doing in the room, but she might just need some quiet time for herself, especially when you said your son was disturbing her. Sometimes, teenaged girl might just need more privacy than a boy does. Do you have a spare key for the room? In case of any emergency. |

@grecy095 I think listening to calls is really tiring, especially I heard that you might get your rating down if you review wrongly, right? That’s really taxing, hence I can understand how exhausted you are after the 8 hour work there. If it makes you earn better for concentrating there, then perhaps it’s a good way to do so. Remember to take a little bit of rest after that. 🙂 @peachpurple Actually I still spent time online during my confinement months for my first two children. I breastfed my babies, so I had to wake up quite frequently to feed them during the night. In order not to let myself fall asleep, I went online and read too. I also clicked on the ads as it didn’t require much effort. 😀 I do not know if I have any comments disappear, suny mentioned that too. Hope this will be fixed soon. I understand when we stick to the computer, the children will follow too. That’s why before this, I try to only work in the early morning while the children are sleeping. It’s just that recently I am also rushing for my freelance software projects, so I really have to work while they are around. Glad that two of them can play together with each other well, but whenever they come into the study, I just go out with them without working. So I do get a lot of break time throughout the day. 😀 Good that you have such a good schedule for yourself. 🙂 |
|
@grecy095 I agree with suny, it seems like women are better at multi tasking. I can multitask when I am at my normal self, but not when I am in my abnormal mode. So, as others said, perhaps you need to take a break, or wait until you get back to your normal mode, then you’ll be just fine. I also agree with peach, if you can’t really put down your work, choose the higher priority first. 🙂 Actually I am learning not to multitask. I am learning to be more mindful, so it’s actually good to focus one thing at a time. But, I am still not there yet, I am still opening multiple tabs to work online and also on my software project, then I am also going in and out of my study, to do housework, attend to my children, etc. But, I am learning. 🙂 @sunil I am sorry to hear that. But, if you have missed a dot in your email address, the system should warn you and prompt you to enter a valid email address, shouldn’t it? Perhaps you can still send an email to the sites and tell them about it. I think they should be able to do something with this, and pay you too. |

@icybc It’s okay, I think we are here to support each other as well. |

@grecy095 Actually the earnings I make online don’t really help me much, but my software project does. I just enjoy spending time here, but of course, it’d be nice to earn a little bit extra. I don’t really pressure myself to earn online, or even with my software project. I just enjoy doing them. Moreover, my husband also asks me to go and sleep whenever I need to, he will take care of everything else, even though I can’t bring in any money to the family. I’d just like to share his burden, especially doing something I like to do. Don’t worry about me, I am totally fine. I won’t force myself to do something I don’t like to, it’s just not me. Perhaps I just want to enjoy some me-time now before my little one is born. When kids are really young, it’s really hard to find some personal time for myself, so perhaps I am actually taking advantage of this. 😀 It’s my 4th blog overall on this site. I haven’t write many yet, just can’t think of any topic to write. :p You are doing really good at Humanatic. Hope you’ll be able to redeem very soon. Are you only working online and are these the main source of income for you? @morgoodie Is this the sister you mentioned who sell crocheted work? It’s so nice that you have a sister who is your best friend as well. 🙂 I am not sure if the labor will be earlier, but it’s okay. Whatever will come, will come. 😀 |

@morgoodie I think the draft feature might need to be updated, as it’s not serving its functio at the moment. Now, the draft just parked in my dashboard, but I can’t do anything with it at all. 🙂 @morgoodie @lookat I am sorry for recommending wordcounter.net earlier. I just found out it slowed down my computer performance a lot as there are many ads and even video ad. LiteracyBase does load quite slow to me, so with the wordcounter.net page, it made my computer really slow, though I like the features it provides, such as reading level, reading time, speaking time, keyword density, it also saves what we copied and pasted inside the space, but these are not so important to me actually. Speed is more important. I was searching for another wordcount tool online, and found this, with just a text ad: http://www.charactercountonline.com/ @lookat How did you manage to do that? With the help of support? Good that you have got them fixed now. @ruby3881 Thanks for recommending the Hemingway editor. It looks good, and there’s no ad, so it will not slow down my computer, and I think the page loads quite fast as well. Also, thanks for mentioning LibreOffice. I always knew the alternative to be OpenOffice, but I didn’t know about LibreOffice. It’s good to know something new. 🙂 |

@morgoodie It’s a good idea to have such list. I am sure mine will be a long list, especially those I really NEED to learn and teach my children, and there are more for myself too. 😀 Just try Pablo first. It’s really very simple and quick. You just need to search for an image and add text. That’s it. That’s why I am using this tool now, as I don’t want to spend too much time on the image at the moment. There are more things to do. 😀 |

@slayer08 Yes, I agree with you. We actually do not know what will actually happen 10 or 20 years later, so parent should actually let the children learn to be more independent and thus they will learn how to take care of themselves, and we just take care of ourselves too. @4cryingoutloud It’s sad to hear that. I understand it’s sad if the children do not visit the parents in nursing home at all, but I believe if they have good connection with the children, the children would be happily visiting the parents. Sometimes I think we can’t just blame the children. Did the parents spend good time with them when they were young? |

@grecy095 Yes, I am pregnant now, and I am going to deliver my baby about 14 days later. That’s fast!! That’s why I am rushing for everything now. I hope I can complete at least the main modules of my software project, clean my home and the baby’s stuffs (yes, I haven’t get them prepared yet), and also try to cash out from this site, as I know I will not have so much time to come online later. 😀 Yes, my children are always my teachers. They have been teaching me a lot, and I have really learned and grown a lot for being a mother in these few years. Good news for this morning: |

@grecy095 It’s good to hear you are doing so well in Humanatic. Hope it’ll boost up your motivation too. Yes, I am also busy in clearing the notifications and responding to others. I always like the friendly conversation here, though we do not meet each other personally, we are here to share and support each other. 🙂 @haraka I think you are really busy with other sites, and perhaps forums, right? I like to spend time in forums too, especially having friendly discussion with others. It’s fun and I get to learn a lot from you all. This reminds me of those days when there were no paying forums, but I still spent sleepless nights hanging around in some forums. 😀 |
|
@morgoodie I am not a wonder woman, but it’s just that I think I have spent too much time online. 😀 @haraka Good that you know how to use PhotoShop. I thought of learning how to use it for many years, but eventually I just gave up. I am just not into graphics design, so I prefer to spend time to learn something else. I prefer coding to designing. 🙂 @grecy095 I think I just do not really enjoy graphics design so much, so I prefer something really simple and can help to make what I want. Moreover, it’s quick to get what we want done, so we won’t need to spend too much time there. |

@morgoodie It’s so nice of your kids to buy the adult coloring books for their grandmother. Yes, I think doing handwork really helps us to practice patience. That’s why children are encouraged to learn handwork as well. I guess you can always color one page throug a few sittings. 😀 Thanks for the compliment. I am still a beginner at crocheting, but I like to make toys for my children, and thankfully they are not picky at all. 😀 I try not to use plastic stuffs at home, especially for toys. I don’t really buy toys for my children since they were young, especially after I have learned knitting and crocheting, but I always make toys for them with yarns, and sometimes felt or fabric with hand sewing. I will look for the link for the crocheted eggs pattern, so you can share it with your sister. I have actually made a few more Easter treasures for my children, but it seems like they like these crocheted eggs more, and my friends like them too when I shared the picture on Facebook. Moreover, these eggs are really easy to make. |

Same as you, I thought of being a teacher and writer when I was young. I think I have sort of fulfilled my dreams as a child. As a mother and I am homeschooling my children, so I think I can be considered as a teacher or home educator now. Though I am not a professional writer, I am glad I have joined several writing sites and being able to earn a little from my own writing. @shohana That’s really interesting. Here, I know many boys would always want to be police when they grow up. My brother also thought of becoming a police when he was young. Perhaps we watched some TV series about police when we were young. @cookiemonster It’s really good that you have been wanting to become a lawyer when you were still a kid, and you have even made it! I guess not everyone will eventually work in the same field that they were dreaming of when they were kids. You are the lucky one! By the way, welcome to the site! Hope you will enjoy spending time around. 🙂 |

@dawnwriter Yes, I agree with you. I guess, we just need to let the parents be the parents. They need to learn as well. Moreover I always think it’s a blessing to be parent, so we should really play our role and enjoy the play. Sometimes the grandparents can be too strict and still like to use their way to discipline the children too – spank, shame, blame, scold, etc. 😀 I always think parents should have the final say, of course, they need to respect their parents as well, but they should not create any confusion to the young children, whether or not they should listen to the grandparents or parents? But I guess the situation of seniors might be different in different societies. Those senior people that I know have always been helping out the take care of the grandchildren, and it’s actually their children are relying on them more often, unless those who have mentioned in the previous comments, the seniors are really dependent on their children. |
