Well in my last relationship I’ve learned not to let any man put me down or to except verbal abuse…

@ruby3881 If not calling parents “Mom” and “Dad”, usually how others call the parents? I always wonder how you call the elder brother or sister in English, do you call them by name as well?
@peachpurple That’s not true for Ipoh ladies. I do not know where the rumor came from, though I have heard about it when I came to KL and studied. 😀 Yes, I…[Read more]

@peachpurple That makes it hard to be close to people after things like that happen. I know that I tend to keep myself distant to people because I never know when someone is going to turn on me. I tend to not trust people and I do not like feeling like this, but when more than one person betrays me it is hard to trust others. I like to keep most…[Read more]

Middle child syndrome. The middle child is always the one who gets left out. I was subjected to my sister’s feelings of being the middle child. I always get the mom and dad spoiled you because you were the baby of the family. By the way, this is totally unfounded. I was born 8 years after my older sister, so it was pretty much like being an only…[Read more]

I am sorry about your loss. My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, but it is not something that I talk to much about. I had a hard time after it happened because I did not know anyone who went through it and that made me feel alone. It is not easy to explain the feeling to someone who has not gone through it.
I have also had my babies by C-section. I had to have one with my first because I was having problems with my blood pressure and after being induced twice which did not work, my doctor felt it was necessary to get her out. So my second baby had to be by C-section since my doctor did not do vaginal births after C-section. Not how I planned to have…[Read more]

@sunil It’s truly sad to hear that. But, I guess we just have to accept what God gives us and be thankful for what we have too. My baby is having higher risk for down syndrome, I was really sad when I heard this news, but then after I have calmed down, I think this is a precious gift to me, no matter how he is, I am still thankful for him.
I…[Read more]

@Lee Ka that’s what we did, we planned to limit our children to two but as the fate would have it our plan misfired on us. When my second child, a boy left us at the age of 4 months we had no option left. We feel so sorry for him but we are thankful for what we have.
@slayer08 Actually I never think 3 or 4 kids are a lot, though many people nowadays think that. I am thinking of that too. I am going to have my third child soon, but I am not sure about the fourth, due to my age.
My advice is if you would like to have more kids, perhaps you have to plan for when you want to have your first child, and the age gap…[Read more]

@slayer08
yup, I guess being the middle child doesn’t get much attention.
It is either the eldest or the youngest who gets the best love and priority

I used to have a best friend, who was very closed to me.
We do everything together, share secrets until one day she betrayed my trust.
She chose to disappear from my sight although I didn’t have the chance to ask for her reasons ( betrayal).
Hence, I kept my distance from my friends.
Friends do not stay close to you during crucial times.

@kaka135
I see that there are still families who practice speaking Mandarin as the mother tongue.
My family speaks English because my parents are English educated.
Hence, we are Chinese illiterate.
@grecy095
oic, they had the misconception about it.
They thought that are are durable to all kinds of problems.
Anyway, do feel free to share your problems with us

@morgoodie Yes, I do agree that there are many challenges and learning for parents to bring up the children. That’s why we plan to have a bigger age gap between the children, so we can spend more time with each child, and also wait until the youngest is older and more independent, then only we consider having a baby. I guess this will be easier…[Read more]

Yes sissy I think I am pressuring myselt too much and all the time. I try to solve my own problems, the disadvantage my parents think I can go on my own all the time that is why sometimes they don’t care about me but of course, they care but they are not vocal about it. @peachpurple
oh, traditional ways of calling parents, thanks for sharing with us
@morgoodie
thanks for sharing with us.
I guess that when one of the parents had passed away, you will be closer to the other one, to cherish those precious moments.
That is why, it still lingers in your memory, feels like yesterday.
@icybc
sorry to hear about yr dad.
When parents grow older, we tend to be closer to them than in the past, isn’t it?
@ruby3881
I like “Mi” , that is the way my kids are calling me now.
