So sad, all the violence we are seeing around the world. When will we ever learn to live in peace?

    • I have had a busy past few weeks. I have been following the news on the most recent killings both in Dallas and the killing in NICE. It’s been terrible and I have recently been told of today’s rallies across the USA called, National Day of Rage. Can you believe this? Even Dallas is getting prepared and actually shutting down some businesses in the…[Read more]

    • Following the path to peace is a conscience decision. It’s not really that hard to do if everybody follows it. The reality is there’s some, all and none. Not all will follow that path. Some will follow it. Believe it or not. Life could be worse. Suppose none followed it?

@bestwriter I do understand your interest in seeing whether the site will pay on time without being prompted. I just think the next pay cycle will be influenced both by this post and by the earlier goading. If in 2-3 months there has been no need for goading and payments are always prompt, I think we’ll be able to say the site is beginning to have…[Read more]

peachpurple wrote a new post, Honey Spice Cornflakes 8 years, 4 months ago

Recently I had found out that eating crunchy cornflakes is REALLY plain BORING , not only for my kids, I felt the same way too.

We had tried several breakfast ideas:

Fresh milk mix with a bowl of corn […]

    • This recipe seems crispy. I am feeling hungry now and crave to take a bite on this newly introduced recipe.I think this is not hard to prepare by a an amateur cook hehehehhe.

    • I don’t make any recipes with corn flakes. But I sometimes sprinkle corn flakes on top of my ice cream. It’s tasty and fun! This recipe sounds delicious. 🙂

    • It is a good recipe for the readers and also for domestic women may make it for their children easily. My mon makes such as
Crushed cornflakes are coated with a sticky honey butter mixture, and then spooned into cute mini cases topped with coloured sprinkles before baking. After cooled, the cornflakes will harden into one piece in the cup like a cookie.

There are various recipes out there, and some call for half honey and half sugar while some (like this recipe) uses only honey. I personally tried both variations and everyone prefer the version without sugar, as it is less sweet and the extra honey also enables the cornflakes to bind better together.

      Ingredients:

      Cornflakes – 1 cup
      Ghee – 1/2 tsp
      Curry Leaves – 4
      Chilli Powder – 1/4 tsp
      Peanuts – 1 tsp
      Salt – a pinch

      Method:

Heat the Ghee in a Pan, add peanuts and roast it, till it turns into golden colour. slow the flame. Now add curry leaves and roast it. add chilli powder and salt and mix well.

Now toss the cornflakes with spices from the pan. toss it well.

Store it in an air-tight container.

You can add this to soup’s. also you can have these spiced cornflakes with sambhar rice or rasam rice.

This is a very quick post. In my Next post, i will share the vegetable soup i prepared, to which i added these cornflakes.

Did I tell u my New Year Resolution’s,

peachpurple wrote a new post, How to make Homemade Natural Food Coloring 8 years, 4 months ago

We usually use food coloring in our food, ranging from
cookies, cakes, muffins, jellies , candies, gelatin desserts
     and carbonated drinks.

Most bakers would resort to using artificial coloring
    drops so […]

    • All natural food colorings and dyes are made from plants and other natural products. They are safe, gentle on the environment and more available than ever. Do they work as well as artificial dyes? And…are artificial food colorings really that bad?

The Problem with Artificial Food Dyes

More and more researchers believe that there is a link between chemical additives in food and certain health problems, especially in children. Some of the health problems identified with the use of these artificial food colorings are —

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
      Behavioral problems
      Depression
      Food allergies
      Headaches and migraines
      Moodiness

All natural food colorings are made with natural products that have been used for decades, and in some cases centuries, without problems. Traditionally grated carrots were added to the cream that butter was to be made from to give it a more golden hue. Beets were added to create a crimson color in cakes and frostings – and the list goes on.

The problem with natural and organic food dyes is that they are not always consistent in how they color something. Also, it is important to remember that while all natural dyes are made from natural ingredients they are not always organic.

Examples of natural food dyes are –

Brown is often made from caramelized sugar
Blue made from red cabbage or blueberry skins
Green made from vegetable extracts like spinach, parsley, etc.
Orange is typically made from the pulp around the annatto seed but can also be made with carrots
Red may be made of hibiscus, beets or the Cochineal beetle (sounds gross but it has been used for over a century)
Pink may be made from beets
Purple can be made from blackberry, purple carrots or red cabbage
Yellow can be made from turmeric or carrot.

    • Food coloring gives some attraction. The buyer will be tempted to buy the product just by its appearance The coloring gives fresh look and assumed taste to the product. But, the artificial coloring is very harmful and needs to be avoided. These colors are generally used in cool drinks and other drinks to make them attractive.
If you purchase an ice cream ball from a vendor he will first chop off the raw ice and add some fruit pieces like pineapples, custard apple, watermelon, etc., and finally, takes out a bottle which will have some fine nozzle. The bottle will be very colorful. He just sprinkles the drink over the top of the ice. It becomes very attractively and colorful.
Nowadays, in India, we are having ‘Soda Spot’ shops where they will sell cool drinks having Beer, strawberry, mango, pineapple, orange flavors. They do not have any fruits juice in them. Just some essence and some color. Is it not dangerous to have them whenever we find them on the road? I am afraid of using them. But, when I move out with family I too enjoy them and become a small kid, Of course, this is life and we have to mix with kids like a kid only. This is another enjoyment.

I agree with what @swalia has said. It looks better for the site and improves the chances that users will respect site rules when the staff honour them as well. While there may have been a good reason for the payments to be late, it just takes a moment to post a message explaining the situation. That makes the staff look professional and it im…[Read more]

Recently the kitchen sink REALLY was blocked and I had no idea why it was!

I searched online for solution and found that there is a possbility that the oils, fats that I washed off from the wok and pans had accumulated into thick form that looked like a soap bar blocking the U pipe.

Similar to cholesterol build up in our arteries.

    So the…[Read more]
